Intercooler intake extensions

I've thought about doing this given I track heavily. Worth it? Anybody tried it?

I have seen some custom pieces made along these same lines that actual prodrude further out.....very interesting.

If you are a heavy tracker in the summer I'd say they may be worth a try. No doubt if you can provide more air flow....drop temp by a few degrees, that will translate to more power.....nothing that can be easily dyno'd in the shop but on a summer track day.....yes.
If you have a way to measure temp back there before and after the mod that would be telling.

Ouch that's an expensive piece of plastic for just a couple of inches.

Buy some new IC if it's intake temps you're worried about. Otherwise I'd say you'd be hard pressed to see any difference with the minimal amount of extra material. They do give a subtle appearance bump though.

Yes our summer track temps are a killer. I too find the concept interesting. I'm not chasing power per say rather consistent levels or stable temps.

Yes agreed too expensive. I already have bigger ic, maybe more airflow will make them more efficient, after all manthey are involved there is always some reason they made them in the first place.
