Chasing (and catching) 10s - One man’s journey
and, for your viewing pleasure, simply because it matches my title (although not necessarily my 996 specific content)....
My E55 running tens (chased this slip all the way to Ohio/Summit):
My S2000 running tens (and 9s with prior owner):
(10s at about 600 whp)
(9s at about 750 whp)
(9s ****pit view)
S has been tuned at 907 whp - just haven't had the nuts to pilot it down the track at those numbers with no cage
And, yes, the driver of the S (prior owner's buddy) has an even goofier laugh than mine

I think there are a few others, but very rare. No one wants to go down that road for the sake of a number. I think 136-138 trap on a stock motor is about it..any faster and you are making too much power for a stock engine. ET and 60-130 is too driver dependant. Chris Green can drive like a maniac, hence his 5.1 60-130 and killer ET's...not sure too many others that I know of or remember, are in that league with a stock engine...
We went 10.0@149 on stock motor, I would not say it will last forever but it will do it. Motor was pulled when transmission blew up and for safety we built the motor. Rods were slightly bent but car was still making over 8XXrwhp. I think that is the record for stock internal 996tt motor. 10's are not as easy as they sound, congrats!

Thanks! And, congrats right back atcha...
This is my brothers car, the turbos were precision 5857. We were running ms109 at 27psi, https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...000hp-kit.html.

I think the information contained in your thread, which clearly demonstrates your ability to push the limits of the stock internals on a 996 motor is useful and beneficial to all those like myself, who are starting/continuing down the road of modding these 99X cars. Major rep to you for taking those steps/risks and sharing the trials and tribulations with all!

I certainly will not be pushing those limits on my car, but is nice to know where the ragged edge is located.
