Tech help needed please w/ Power Steering Reservoir

So my power steering reservoir is busted and I inadvertently wound up with
a used unit that turns out to be a TipTronic version. (My car is 6 speed)

My question: Can we tap the tip unit with AN fittings and make it work on
a 6 speed?

The tip unit is identical to the 6 speed unit sans the receptacle for pressure
and return lines. It even has the markings, "A" and "P" where the lines go!

I figured it's merely a container and there's nothing mechanical about it?

Anybody with experience or opinions?

The power steering tank was replaced in my 03 Turbo (with a 6-speed). The reason was a valve was noisy. The valve is not sold separately. While you can tap the unit for the line fittings, I guess, I'm not sure what you are going to do about the valve (or valves) that are present in the tank for the 6-speed manual and are necessary for the operation of the boosted/power assisted clutch.

he's talking about the valve in the ps unit that resonates. i'm not gonna ask how you ended up with a ps res for a tip if it's not pre tapped and the same for both configs. but why tap a tip res!? after all of your build! get a used one for a mt lol

What do you need the taps for? Do you not have the gt2 slave? If you must have, I have two 6mt pumps and I can ship you one and you can ship back the tip one.

tim to the rescue!! tim randy still has the oem setup. he was told this res would fit and then it turned out it was a tip res.

this is the perfect answer randy swap it with tim! btw tim call me i need to ask a couple questions and order a few parts.

Yep, I was gettin ready to bite the bullet and buy a new one! Next is the
damn trans! Boy that aint gonna be cheap.

And I need to warn some folks about that rolling anti lag.........

No one had a used one! LA dismantler, Sambo, Fla dismantler, DC auto,
etc.... and nothing on ebay, 6 speed, rennlist

The damn thing is upwards of 800.00 new! And yes, I spent a lot of money
on the car and especially the last build but continuing to burn money isn't
a logical progression Mark!

fair enough although i figured logic and reason had long since left the equation glad you got it sorted though lol
