porsche fault code 80 Secondary air system bank 1

Guys the above fault code has appeared for banks 1 & 2 but strangely after I have made a couple of modifications, car has Ti exhaust with 200 cell cats and an APR 98 octane test pipes map, I had turbosmart actuators fitted (1 bar I think) and it has billet diverter valves. APR said to swap the stock actuators back into it as it was trying to overboost with the turbosmart ones so I have, also I had no post cat O2 sensors fitted but was getting 4 related fault codes even though its a test pipes map, again talking to APR I was told I still need the sensors in so I bought one new one (as the threads were bad on one old one), took the car out and it hits 1.1 bar and flies but ran a scan with the Durametric and it threw the Secondary air system codes for both banks, the other post cat O2 codes are gone and the air pump and switch are both working as I switched them on from the Durametric, there are no codes re appearing but the motor is warm now. Any ideas guys ????

Check the hoses going to and from the diverter valves.

Thanks, I had a quick look tonight, presumably this fault code will only show when the car cold starts.

Happened to my other porsche its a cracked hose off the pump or your vacuum canister has a crack in it. Check the hoses.....

The only reason why you get the code is when the cars is cold because thats the only time it runs when you first start it up with a cold engine.

i am sure your vacuum tank hasnt vacuum in it , because it has boost in it and with that boost your secondary air valve cant open...

do you a favour and install 2 new 710n diverter valves and your failure is away

most cases the diverter valve is def and you get boost into the vaccuum tank....seen that many times that one of the diverters are leaking a little and the secondary air valve is closed with boost/check valve hold boost in the vacuum tank but it should be vacuum in there to open the secondary air valve

That may make some sense as it has 2 new diverter valves fitted BUT they are copies of the forge ones and came with a choice of springs to alter the pressure they operate at, I had to disassemble them to get the correct setting and I managed to pinch an O ring in one of them BUT not seen this code before and its weird it came up just after retrofitting the old actuators and refitting the post cat O2 sensors

Yes it will, thanks, I will see if the code reappears tomorrow, if so I can put the old stock diverters back in as they were holding 1.2 bar fine and see if I can find a problem with the new metal diverters, the problem was the o ring is in the bore of the unit and as the piston tried to push past it it just 'rolled it up the bore, prob because there was no beveled edge on the piston which I have now remedied but maybe I broke the o ring, strange it waited till now to appear.
