Lightest Rims?? Also does it make a difference 60-150+
I am looking for the lightest rims……….?? (i would prefer 18")
So far I saw: Forgestar f14, OZ Ultralegra HLT, OZ alegritta
I have the bigger GT3 Breaks (caliper and rotor). I was under the impression that not all 18' will fit over them?
Also do the lighter rims really make that much of a difference in highway pull times??
I currently run a 19" 1 piece FUCHS FP1's……..don't know the exact weight but they are lighter than the stock rims. I was pondering on either throwing on some r888's on them or going a full new setup in 18.
Would love to hear opinions and real life experiences.
(i have searched and read ALOT) Thanks guys!

if running the 996 GT2/GT3 brake system, there's no issue with 18" er's...
lighter is always better is regards to performance, additionally in basic terms, it is better to have a wheel with a light outer and heavy center, than a wheel with a heavy rim/outer and lighter center...
Of course a light wheel must also be strong, don't cheap out...
Cheers,

^Roughly, 1lb unsprung=4lbs sprung for suspension purposes...
rotating inertia is where straight-line performance is made or lost, farther away from the rotating center point the weight is, the more energy it takes to turn it...also consider lighter rotors/PCCB's if you are looking to improve anywhere possible...

I was more concerned about the difference in weight of the rims and is it worth to change. Ill look up the weight difference in a few minutes for the tires.

The R888 weight difference would be 1 pound, 18 vs 19. (315/30 and 305/30)
If I ran the 305/35 instead of the 315/30 in 18", the 18" winds up being heavier by 2 lbs.
The 19" only comes in the 305/30, no 315/35 option…..

Something not many people think about. MPSS's in my 19" size weigh the same as the R888's I would get in 18's.
