DTRL - LED replacement review
DTRL - LED replacement review
I have been burning out DTRLs about every 12 months (just a little past warranty) for the last 3 years. I saw some LED replacements at SuperBrightLEDs.com and thought I would give them a try. The site said the LEDs would be 3 out of 5 for brightness where 5 is the original factory intensity. I have been using after-market 55 watt lights that are brighter than the stock lights.
The LEDs are a little longer but easily fit in the stock location. When I first started the car, I had to get pretty close to confirm the LEDs were even turned on. They are really not as bright as I would like to see. These lights are on during the day and need to be bright enough to make other cars aware that there is a car approaching. I have to rate them a 4 out of 10.
There are newer and higher intensity LEDs coming out weekly. Anyone considering this mod should wait for the next version.
