PM me if you want any more insight on my repairs
First of all, I like your choice in cars =)

Second, I don't need a rental car, but their insurance company does owe me one. I wonder if they would just write a check.

Same here.... Just to brag but I just acquired a 1998 Ducati FE 900 Numbered 298 . Just needed a left fairing and turn signal that I was lucky to find on Ebay.

In regards to rental, doubt they would write you a check I too didn't need a rental car but had planned on doing quite a bit of driving over the holidays, I decided to take a rental Camry for the month + instead. Although a very dull car, couldn't pass up 35mpg on the highway for those runs to socal.

So just wondering. . . .what makes it such a one of a kind that couldn't be copied on another 911 turbo without "10s thousands of dollars"?

Best of luck with the repairs though. I know the whole process stinks!

Exactly. How do you recover the diminished resale value…..? You can't.

It cost me 10k on a 50k car. It was a 2 yr old m3. Work about the same as 12 year old turbo.

This is a sad situation. Maybe mine is a stupid question, but think about it : why did you park this very special pcar so near the driveway ??? I live in the mountains and get a lot of snow too, took delivery today, from a truck, BUT I moved the pcar 200 feet away far from any potential harm ! Wow to the damage, but this could have been avoided. We all prevent casual contact with other cars when we take our pcars to parking lots (the walking is healthy), or even into paid garages (I tip the attendant when I give them the keys). Good luck with the repairs.

I won't bore you with details but had a similar issue with a car.. Ended up settling with the insurance company, purchased a replacement vehicle, bought back my original car with a salvage title, and removed all the "special Part's" and used on the new car... And then sold the parts I didn't use including the engine etc for more than I paid for the salvage car... Anyways, overall It really sucked and I almost got sick just looking at your pics.. Man, I sure hate it for you.. Stay firm on your resolve with the insurance company. They are crooks IMO and will try to get away with anything they can to save a dollar..

not judging, but the accident (in my mind) is never "serious" if nobody gets hurt. Just saying...

now with serious comments behind me, I would move fast on the insurance claim. Best Buy is on the brink, you know.

I feel for you but I would very surprise if any insurance company is going to replace custom parts. They are only abligated to make it new again using stock parts. You will have to get that custom stuff redone unless you want to go to court. Even then custom modification are at the discretion of an owner. GL
