What is his budget? From what you're indicating, around 1500-2000?
Skip the ipd/intake. Boost leak test + N75 valves(preventative) + Tune and be done with.
You've already indicated no exhaust so there's your solution....

I currently have 64,000 miles with an Evoms tune, AWE exhaust and DV's. Original clutch. It has only slipped once and that was after SEVEN hot laps at a drag way. Get a good tune (Markski, EPL, Protomotive) and maybe an exhaust if you want to. I'm willing to bet that Markski will retune your car after your initial tune if you decide to buy an exhaust later (assuming you buy your first tune from him.

Good luck.

You can't go wrong with any of these tuners!

so it seems everyone agrees to skip the plenum and go straight for a flash tune? already purchased the evoms vflow intake and i feel like he will like the noise from that, but im sure i can steer him into a tune if thats the way to go.....again, hes not gonna spring for an exhaust at this point so thats out of the question

Be prepared to buy a bunch of MAF sensors they are around 300.00 a piece with the EVOM intake. I had 3 go on me in a year. Ohh also you cant drive your car in the rain with the EVOM intake it gets wet from the rain and your engine will get hurt.

false you can drive your car in the rain without worries, and only over oiled filters cause MAF issues.

Lol really i have gone through this bunch of times. The filter will get soaked when it rains out everytime because the filter is wide open and rain flows from the outside of the trunk right into the filter. AMS tells you not to drive your car in the rain i almost blew my motor because of this its been talked about many times here. Install at your own risk.

okay then you stay inside while i tear it up in the rain no problemo!

the only filter id be worried about in the rain is a POD style filter directly attached to the compressor housing on the turbo, under the car. only because if the water is more then 2" deep in a puddle it would soak the filter.

I would be more worried about the EVOM intake then the filters on the turbo. Evom intake has beena real issue for lots of people.

guys i did my due diligence on reading up on intakes, i understand people have had issues with the evoms intakes, but there's also tons of people that haven't.... i could sit here and tell you all to never touch precision turbos cause i had all sorts of issues with them, but that doesn't mean they don't make a good product.....the car has been driven 3k miles in the past two years.... so its not like hes gonna be out flogging it in a downpour, and also i fail to see how a little water on a filter can cause an issue in the first place...... i can see it possibly causing maf issues because its in the direct line right behind the filter.... but how can water travel though a red hot compressor, through intercooler piping, through the intercooler itself, through more piping and into the throttle body to cause a major issue..... i just cant see it.....

The real question to me is what does the EVOMs intake actually do for you. My theory (as I had it installed and blew through several MAFs) is it causes the intake air to come across the MAF in an inconsistent manor. Since you probably have some idea how a thin film MAF works, this rough, swirling air causes voltage spikes, hence blows the MAF. It doesn't improve the sound anywhere near a good exhaust. And I have found no data to support it actually increases airflow or performance for that matter. If you want more air go with a dual snorkel Sportec intake .

weve already purchased the evoms intake, so we will see how he likes it, if it causes issues then we can move on from there.....

and i cant stress enough the fact that hes not interested in another exhaust at this time.... i took a fabspeed off the car and re-installed the stock system so i know about weight savings and all that, but he couldn't stand the drone and now he doesn't want to drop the money on another system.... so other bolt on's is what ive talked to him about

Its not that the EVOM will cause issues it will BLOW your motor dont install it. You will regret it when it rains and you will be forking over 20k for a new motor.
