Yeah, I am starting my training regiment for the rollbar/GT3 seat installation marathon. Feeling pretty loose and confident...

Guess I will need to get a nice fire extinquisher mounted to the roll bar, followed by the GT3RS CF wing element and perhaps mirror's and hood once Gert has them available.

The GruppeM ram air/cone filter system may be nice too. I should hear back from them next week regarding any valid performance documentation. Not as concerned about the hp increase, minimal at best, but significantly enhanced throttle reponse time and sound could put me over the $1,600 abyss for that mod
Besides, the CF really dresses up the engine compartment. Sort of the "Black Tie" look....

Where does the modding end??? It seems like when your done with one thing, your ready for the next....Funny!!!

Max, let us GT3 guys know if you run across any install snafu's, particularly the disconnecting and reconnecting of the seat belt wire harness. I sure don't want to screw that up and have the air bag light go off...

It seems that the important part is to hook up the seatbelt harness the right way. Photos will be taken and the harness will be marked before I pull any plugs.

It's very simple.

Put a blanket down and cover both door sills to prevent any damage, i.e. scratching.

A. Make sure the key is out of the ignition
B. Remove 4 torx bolts per seat
C. Unplug wiring harnesses
D. Open each harness (slide lock) and remove seat belt wire/plug
(simply disconnects with no cutting, etc.)
E. Remove seatbelt receptacle from each seat and attach to GT3 Seat
F. Bolt new GT3 seats in place
E. Connect seat belt wire/plug into floor wiring harness and tape together
F. Enjoy a beer

If you are installing the sub bars, the time to do it is now, BEFORE bolting down the GT3 seats.

The whole thing will take you ~30 minutes - 1 hour, depending on how slow you go.

What's the difference between reverse torx and regular torx bolts???

Are there such things as english vs. metric torx???

Can you use the standard allen wrench style torx key or do I need a special tool???

Thanks..

You would need a "reverse" torx socket which is "female"
You cannot use an allen wrench style torx key.

A picture of a torx bolt similar to the one you will be removing:

In the past I have been able to get the bolts loose using a regular socket, though I am sure the correct tool makes it much easier.
