The interior is my least favorite part, mainly due to the wood dash trim not wearing well and having some cracks. The dealer is replacing the steering wheel and some trim with natural brown and black pieces before I pick it up. I don't have any pics with the new trim yet. Here's a few of the old trim. Oh, and the stereo has to go! Who still has cassette tapes?!

You'll love the turbo! As a fellow gearhead and wrench, I can't think of a better car to have at any price. The 996 Turbo is modern, yet much more visceral than newer stuff. The motor hanging over the rear is what a 911 is about. With all the electronics and AWD it's not as noticeable as in a C2 RWD but still fun. (That's easy to change)

As nice and fun as these cars are, I think it will pale in comparison to the adventures you've had. I'm an adventurer at heart and spend lot's of time in the mountains climbing rock, ice and snow. Summiting peaks and lots of hiking are different kinds of adrenalin rushes that haven't been matched in years of motorcycle racing and driving fast cars.

It's all good! I'm sure when you come home you'll be ready for your Turbo:-)

Thanks Nick... I know what you mean about the mountaineering. I also have driven many fast cars as I own a performance shop in Denver and have driven more than a few street/race cars making 1,500+ horsepower. My own mustang has about 1,000 but the speed feels cheap and crude compared to how a Porsche handles it. Plus I love the sound of the engine coming from the rear. 911's have always excited me and now I own one - although I haven't seen or driven it in person yet. Soon!

Take care,
Greg

The United States Antarctic Program currently uses Skidoo Skandic, and Tundra snowmobiles. Mainly utility sleds. They need to be air cooled to prevent contamination of the environment by coolant leaks. We remove the oil tanks as the pumps break in the extreme cold and then run premixed fuel.

Just this season I prepped all the old Alpine1 and Alpine2 snowmobiles to be sent back and auctioned off. Those are the old ones with one ski and two tracks. I've got a pic below.

Thanks 2swoosh! I'm glad you enjoyed the Antarctica stuff. I have a lot more to post on my blog. I've taken thousands of pictures and movies down here. Yeah the women get a lot of attention because there are so few of them. LOL. Thanks for the comments on my car. I am pretty excited to see it.
