Can't wait to come home to this...
Howdy Everyone,
I'm just finishing a 6 month contract working in Antarctica. While I was gone I bought my dream car, a 996TT... I had it checked out by a friend at home first. I get back to the states in March 8th and pickup the car on March 10th. I'm so excited. : ) I've been following this forum for a while now and there is a lot of great knowledge here. It's awesome to have this info and support.
The car has the light maple wood trim which has some wear, so I'm taking that out and installing new trim and steering wheel.
I'm happy to be on this site as I know it will be very useful seeing the issues these cars have and also all the mods people have done.
Thanks fellow 6 speeders!
Greg

No problem! It's an amazing place. I am a snowmobile instructor and mechanic. I am also on the Joint Antarctic Search & Rescue team. When I'm not teaching scientists and other support staff how to ride their snowmobiles I work on anything with small engines: snowmobiles, ATVs, ice drills, generators, heaters, etc. We have field camps throughout the continent where scientists are doing some incredible research and their equipment needs to run or it can mean the difference between life and death. I have a blog that I am using to share some of my experiences:

Thanks,

Yes it was at Porsche of Colorado Springs. I have not seen the autotrader ad. I knew some people here would recognize it! I'm ready to give it lots of love. : )
Antarctica is awesome. Even though it's the coldest, harshest, windiest, driest, and highest (mean elevation) of any place on earth, I love it and think it's beautiful. When I first got down here the sun had just risen for the first time in almost 6 months. The transition from total darkness to 24hr daylight happens very very fast. During this time there are some of the most amazing sunsets that last for 4-5 hours. Then comes the 24 daylight with is a little weird. Even in the middle of the night the sun is straight up like it's noon. It's great for taking evening hikes and exploring though. The sun is just getting ready to set now after about 5 months of daylight. There are killer whales, seals, and penguins all over now. There are no trees, plants, insects or other mammals. In the dry valleys I have seen seals that have died 6000 years ago and are still intact but sort of mummified. Nothing decomposes here but just stays frozen in time.
