I friend with a 2014 GTR and Switzer P800 kit wants me to run him. (Probably to make him feel good). Supposed to head over to Montgomery AL on Friday.


I have never really driven on the track. Need some tips, pointers, etc.

Sambo Billet K16's
911 Tuning inlet pipes
GT2RS IC's
KW V3 coilovers


19" wheels right now on Nitto Invo's 305/30/19
(1st question is, would I be better to put my 18" stock wheels on with the ancient Hancook Ventus Evo tires they have now?)

I've read to turn PSM off. What else?

 

Usaully 18s are always better but if tires on them are shot than stick with your 19s.

PSM off. around 25-26psi in tires, make sure they are even.

 

If I can get them done before Friday afternoon. What size/kind of drag radials should I put on my stock 18" wheels?

sure that will work.

i would do the 305/35/18 Mickey .... pretty common tire

 

Can you run a 315 tire? seems like a lot more options in the size?

 

you could but in drag racing you want the extra sidewall of a 35 profile vs 30 profile tire.

 

drop the pressure in rear to 22 psi lets say....don't wheel hop- axles go...

yeah more sidewall on tires. nice motor and tranny mount as well as solid subframe bushings and nice suspension arms. all those help.

 

Your going to fly with those 16g billets. You should be high 10s low 11s.

 

You have to find the sweet RPM spot to bring the Rpms up to with the gas pedal ,,, then let up on the clutch to the point where it is just about to grab,, then asi you start to move with the clutch pedal being released give it more of the gas pedal to the floor ... It should be a smooth transaction of those two working together to give you a nice launch.

HIX, youre better off with 18s and a 35 profile tire. (305 35). a thin sidewall wont give you enough flex to come off the line strong, and it may increase wheel hop. too much wheel hop and your axle snaps.

 

I run a 295/35 rear.

 

Keep your expectations low...and you won't be disappointed. Especially against a modded GTR. If you don't do everything perfect, you're toast.....good luck and report back...
