Gearbox out questions

Having my gearbox repaired - again - next week - the dreaded bearings... This time with a tech who knows his beans.

Once gbox is out, I have done 30k with my upgraded (medium strength) clutch. Car has 530bhp crank. Spirited driving, no track days.

How much extra work for my tech to inspect the clutch?

How to measure "time to go" or worth just changing and be done with it?

Anything else to do whilst gbox out?

Tanx.

the tech should look at the clutch just for good measure. he is right there. gt2 slave conversion if you don't have it already

^ +1 it's impossible NOT to look at the clutch if the trans is out

check the fw as well as material left on the disc. mine was toast visibly, but had never slipped. replaced.

theres tons of threads on swapping the slave out to a gt2 setup. you can use the evoms unit for about 1000$ or do the oem setup for about 600$ in parts. i did all the labor so i don't count that cost.

basically your going from a petosin assisted unit to a dot 4 non assisted setup for better clutch engagement feel
