next mod?

I have an 02 turbo tip with intake and a 1 bar tune. The car ran 12.1 at 117 mph last night at the strip. Ran several times but couldn't break into the 11's . Will an exhaust or muffle delete make a big difference and shave a couple of tenths? Or should i just boost a little more? Let me know what you guys think or suggest.

Thanks

Exhaust will make a nice power bump if you're already tuned. Another option, if you don't already have it, is to add a dedicated file for race gas.

Exhaust will definitely help. Can you post your slips, 60' foots etc....

Exhaust should easily get you into 11's.

Gotta look into that. Didn't think about that when I got the tune

60 foot is not bad, 1.9, but can use some work. If you get that down to even 1.7, you will hit a high 11s as is. As others have said though, if you add the exhaust that should easily put you there also.

Exhaust will make a difference but not 2 tenths. You need some upgrades like bigger turbos, injectors, upgraded torque converter, upgraded intercoolers, upgraded boost hoses, 1 bar wastegates, 710N diverter valves and so on....... K16s just dont have enough flow.

a .1 improvement on your 60 ft times will net you .2 at the traps giving you a 11.9 raise the rpm at the launch and let it go. only mod needed is a driver mod

Whats the accepted best way to launch a 996T (6 speed) at this state of tune, I was struggling to get under 2 secs but with an exhaust and similar tune was running 12.1 @ over 125mph regularly, seems it either bogs or gets a lot of axle tramp.

K16s can run 11's with a flash and exhaust, and an exhaust can certainly net .2 in the 1/4 with these cars.

Thats a good trap speed! Would love for mine to have that trap speed.I know most of the Z06's I ran were faster cars because of trap speed but they couldn't launch. I made a bunch of them look bad. car is a tip so there is only so much brake boost I can do. My car would start moving forward when I stepped on the accelerator and went over 1800 rpm Before launch. Maybe I need better brakes... :/

A 'good' exhaust will give you atleast 2 tenths..
But I would practice on bringing down your launch,60' ft. times..then you will hit the elevens..
Good Luck..

Maybe make you k16 to billet. With a good tune you can easily take it to 1.3 bar

Were you spinning off the line? If not then really there are few ways to get your 60ft times down...more power, higher stall converter, lighten the car.
