LUK and Porsche dual mass flywheel same?

I understand LUK makes the flywheel for porsche. So if I buy the stock dual mass flywheel by LUK its the same thing as the porsche turbo stock flywheel?

Seems this is what I have been told by distributors and the parts numbers match up for OEM.

I am trying to get a 996 turbo stock dual mass flywheel. Thanks!!

i'm told i have roger rodas old stock and basically new dmfw in my car now. i was too cheap to buy a "new" one when i put in the new gt2 clutch, and it was just sittin around. so why not.

i haven't tested its strength, but it seems to handle 500 whp just fine

I don't know why anybody would put in a used, relatively cheap part when the labor is a few thousand bucks, especially when you should resurface a FW if you're going to use it again. Just put in a new one and call it a day. Preferably a LWFW so you get better performance!

But if anybody wants a stock DMFW I have one for free for any takers...

The only way I would take a stock DMFW from someone is if it was new. I simply asked questions about who makes them and how durable.

i can answer that! after several grand on my trans work/lsd and assorted other 100k+ mile upgrades, finding i needed a new FW with my other new clutch parts and my techs having a nearly new one on the shelf that even had "provenenace" of a somewhat dubious nature still seemed like a smart move at the time. apparently rodas had taken it out of his 996 before it was used/abused and there it sat. until i needed it, and my clutch was already "out" anyway. sometime you go with what ya got, provided nothing else will "suffer". i had a stock dmfw before,.. and still do.

my clutch works just fine and like new, so it turned out to be a wise decision. so far

unless you have changed you plans for a triple disk c/f clutch i don't think you can even run a dm/fw. the c/f clutch comes with a basket style flywheel. basically a steel or aluminum lwfw that has a cage around it to house the multiple plates and the p/p is attached to the cage.

now if you have changed to a single disk organic style clutch then the oem flywheel will work. either way if you want my old unit its yours i have no need for it. i also have the p/p but the disk is toast
