Got my new intercoolers yesterday

Thought I'd post a thread since I don't see there's much info on these on the forum. I took a few pics and measured them, but I don't have a setup like Earl does to give hard data on IAT's and such. But, hopefully this will give someone a bit more info to make a decision when they decide to go intercooler shopping.

So I bought a set of Wagner intercoolers. They come with 4 2.5" silicone hoses, all clamps, hose fittings, and everything needed for install. My price was $1330 shipped, and they got here extremely quick, even coming from Germany.

Here's a few pics of the intercoolers:

The end tanks are what caught my eye in conjunction with the price. They are huge, and don't neck down anywhere to impede flow. The included hoses have a 2.5" inner diameter.

Some measurements:

Weight: 13 lbs each
12 row
Core length: 14.5"
Core width: 8.75"
Core thickness: 3.5"

External fin density: 13 per inch (staggered)
Internal fin density: 10 per inch (staggered)

I was mainly interested in maximizing flow while keeping the weight down. Earl's excellent review of the 16 row ETS coolers said they weighed 17lbs each. I found that to just be too much, no matter how well they cooled compared to say, the GT2RS coolers, which only weigh 6 lbs each. These I felt would be a good compromise, while also not having to worry about the endtanks leaking.

These have an identical internal fin density to the ETS, but external density is less with 13 fins vs 15. That tiny bit adds up in weight apparently. The endtank inlet/outlet sizes are bigger, measuring just under 2.5". The included hoses are going to be a very tight fit.

I plan on installing them in the next few weeks, along with 18g's, 60lb injectors, and a tune. My car currently just has the stock, non X50/GT2 intercoolers, so I have no doubt these will perform much better. Will update this thread after install to share first impressions.

Can't wait to see your results! I am just opposite. I have turbos 60# injectors tune and exhaust and should be receiving my 911tuning coolers next week! I hope to install them next Saturday. CANT WAIT!

Sweet, very excited to hear more about these. They fit the budget and seem like they could be a great option for someone looking to go K24/18 just to have some fun on the street rather than chasing down every mph and fraction of a second on the track.

Not sure... I did count the rows on the ones you sell as a comparison, LOL.

I did notice there's a certain vendor that sells a 12 row intercooler... but these have a greater density of fins, both internal and external. I'm doubtful they are as good as your IC's with the 2.5" inlet/outlet, but DSCOFF nailed it, I wasn't looking to wring every last bit of HP out of the car with my 18g's.

Will be hitting you up soon to discuss tuning options.
