Hello everyone,

I'm back in need of more help. I'm currently experiencing a strange sound while I pull in 4th and 5th. It sounds like compressor surge. When I begin to pull in 4th and 5th I hear the sound slowly start at around 0.6 bar. It gets loud at around 1 bar and then goes away by 1.2 bar. My peak boost is 1.3 bar. It also only happens from a low rpm. If I start the pull in 2-3krpm it makes the sound, but if its a shift into 4th from wot 3rd, it doesnt happen.

This doesn't happen in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Its the worst in 5th and 6th.

Does this sound like anything in specific?

I cleaned my diverter valves (samco) and nothing changed.

Thanks for any help!

Anyone have any ideas? Todd suggested the actuator preloads arn't in synch, but when I pump them up with a hand pump they both crack at nearly 14psi...

I had a fluttering noise that would come on around .6 bar, but I think it was my MAF sensor leaking because the fluttering seems to have stopped since I cleaned and reseated it.

it is turbo surging...your turbos are near the surge point....

symptoms are only in high gears and realtiv high boost at low rpm...

over 3000rpm in most cases it goes away..

i am shure you have 1 bar wastegates

I have my actuators cracking at 1bar currently.

Is there a good way to cure this, or is this just a characteristic of turbos that spool very fast?
