IPD 74mm Plenum w 997TT TB ?? any downside?

ok back from some unimpeded mix of hi way and canyons runs and this has improved the car significantly, at very least in terms of throttle response and i would guess tq. "power"/hp, i dunno,. coin flip. but my satisfaction with the plenum has to be measured against the fact i also have my wg's adjusted so i hold a SOLID 1.2. so either way, whatever combination of fooling around with it and adding the 68 yesterday has served me well today. yeah i would buy an ipd plenum again.
very simple and decent mod.. and nothing is "maxed" out lol

thx tim..has dramatically improved my low end tq and mid range + throttle response. no question it has helped. i'm not sure how the larger 74 wouldve turned out. but the design and added flow of the 68 suits me just fine. thx for asking! lolOriginally Posted by timccloud

Glad to hear it!
ya, good call. thx bud

^ thx man. i am actually surprised at the noticeable result. it;s hard to imagine that *any* gain might be felt, especially with the same 68mm! but it is definitely noticeable. i would love to know "real" numbers other than my assdyno figuring. but if you just look at the design of the ipd plenum ( next to that plastic oem pvc tube lol ) it is clearly an improvement in air flow ( ipd's is less restrictive that the "T"style oem "? ) over the oem, and the results i have been enjoying seem to reflect that.
i would love to have a/b'd the car w a 68mm VS a 74mm and larger TB but i simply went for the idea of a bit more low end "oomph" with the 68mm and that's what i got.
again, the whole point for me was NOT top end gain, but rather any more low end/midrange i could muster. for that it is $ well spent.
btw...sambo's got em on the shelf too

i was looking at orbelo 800whp+setup : huge IC's,plenum+ypipe+rods+1000cc injector and 450lph pump! that would be my next logical step! can you imagine 800whp on a28 fast spooling torque monster...Originally Posted by '02996ttx50

one thing i have learned about this car is driving it in "smaller/tighter" places has the same effect on one's psyche as driving fast(er) in straighlines does

I had to hammer on something!? ( whatever metal support bar under the plenum is? ) to get enough clearance to reinstall the new one lol. With the engine mounts loosened and dropped an inch or so.Originally Posted by timccloud

Its kinda funny people have done this little mod swear by it mostly..and yet so few seem to mention it.
But its a performance mod, no doubt

i haven't ( and wouldn't ) change sh*t re tune. that is/was mission critical.
