Radar and jamming detectors
I know it it is hard to find with all those buttons that say "TEST RESULTS" But here let me link a page for you.
http://www.radartest.com/productrevi...asp#performing
The V1 is a well made detector that has good range and the rear faceing sensor... The big issue I have with it is it false alerts you to the point you start to ignore it! And they fail to work properly after being baked in the window of a parked car all to often. Not temp safety shut own and no self test feature to say Hey I am broken!

On the page you link, lots of "Buy It Now" with "test results"..one page results...no methodology...lots more Buy It Now. Oh, what? No V1 testing? Could it be because they dont sell V1?
Buried on their site, an "old test": http://radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=5
Note that they take the time to debunk a V1 test- claiming that the V1 interfered with the Escort when they tested each head to head, only one on at a time- BUT THEY DIDNT GIVE THE RESULTS.
Lemme ask- do they test all those 'better' detectors using a Ka gun to the rear? What? No? You say "they dont because the others dont have a rear horn...and you dont really need a rear horn"?
Ive had two V1s for years on the windshield in California- 30-40 days a year over 100F, never fried. False alerts are all based on how you use it and how you set up filtering.
So again, three points:
The 'review sites' are biased as they sell product. (They twist this with "we only sell what we test") There have been one or two unbiased reviews Ive seen that seem to indicate the clear V1 advantage in terms of forward detection is not what it used to be. But as I recall they were somewhat neck and neck.
V1 has counters and rear horn.
V1 does not have GPS. If you need this, dont buy a V1. And if you have an android you can get this.
Escort Jammer
I can only speak for the Escort. I had the jammer for 3 years. No tickets. It also has all of the red light cameras in the US and you can get the updates. Two jammers in front below the lights and one by the tag.

6Speed is a great place to learn about your car. There are lots of enthusiasts here who are knowledgable about cars and Porsches in particular. That's why you spend time here.
There is a place like 6Speed except for radar and laser hobbyists/enthusiasts. It's radar detector dot net. They are absolutely geeky in their passion for defense against law enforcement. You will have the best answers to your questions there.

Has worked so far
Oh yes I see what you mean. I could not see one recent V1 test

It was plainly visable that test link on the page I linked.
The owner of site is a real reasonable guy and he likes to talk. He will tell you about his tests and the equipment and all the trimmings.

whatever radar detector and/or laser jammer combo you decide on, use Waze as well. That app is AWESOME. I've been running an Escort 8500 for 3? years and Waze for ~2 and if I had to choose one I'd choose the Waze. Bogey's can't hide.
Notice I did not say they did not work, But I really did say they are not the best.
They are a good unit, but there is definately better!

"Better" is a matter of personal priority and opinion.
i got hit with radar and laser today at 5 mile differences. Thank goodness for laser shifter and detector.
I was lulled into security with the first radar ping , didn't expect the laser down the road

That forum has been dead for years. If you want to research Laser Jammers and radar detectors try either http://www.radarandlaserforum.com or http://www.rdforum.org
The best radar detector is one of the top 4 units: (Your needs will dictate which one of the top 4 is best for you)

Best Laser Jammer - Clear Winner the AL Priority. Look at any of the current testing results only the ALP defends against all Lidar threats in the US.

Yes I have been on http://www.rdforum.org for a while now and its great. You can really learn a lot from those guys.
A lot of people dont know about segmentation of the detectors. I advise learning it. It makes a huge difference.
