It's all good! I'm just having an anxiety attack as I am in the process of a SBA loan for 5 mil to purchase the facility I occupy and the property tax and everything else has me a little.....EDGY It's the most I have ever done....lol

The PSS definitely lasts longer, and I wish I could figure a size combination to run with my AWD. I want to keep AWD because of how much rain we get and how well she handles wet roads.

If I can add to this...does anyone know of a good source for a set of 315 X 30 X 18 PS2 that is not two+ years old?

The reason I ask is, since I don't put that many miles on it. I don't want the tire life to exceed 5 years and the tire looks new. Thus I'm wondering where I can get a recent production dated one. As for data of production. .its on the side wall of the tire.

i remember awhile back a few vendors had 315/30s in pairs for 600 bucks. i got a few sets. they were old n2's but worked just fine at half price. but yeah if i'm paying 500 a tire i'd like to know they were made recently too. i would just order from the highest voulme dealers like tirerack/discount et al. surely they can tell you date of mfg when you order.

thx for that. never knew date of mfg was on the tire i'll look for it

I'm gonna grab a cpl of the PSS while they're only 188 ea. I'm sure they'll be fine against new ps2rears.

I get so confused between Pilot Super Sport, Pilot Sport, Pilot Sport Cup and whatever other reincarnation they have is called... what is the newest, most assured to be less than a year old Michelin POS tire, anyone.

I have to buy tires soon and was just going to get Toyo R888s

i think the pilot cups are primarily for track? hence the "cup" moniker. they probably are expected on cup cars lol

and ps2's are the best we can get in gt2 sizes. but the pilot super sport IS available in 235/40 if not the 315/30 so I'm gonna mix and match. umm.. gonna hold off on toyo's... for now at least

i'm sure they're great though, and surely can not cost more than pilot super sport cupping 2 wtf evers.

I've been searching...No 315/30 in the super sports

If you run stock sizes... 235 and 315 and don't want to mismatch - only PS2

The people saying that the PSS is stickier then the PS2's are dead wrong.
Even the folks at tire rack will tell you that and they test them....

I have tested them both on several occasions back to back. Both the PSS and PS2's are good street tires but the PS2 definately offers more traction.

i know. sucks. i've been running ps2's ever since the oem pirellis came off the car.
i think running the pss in front will be fine. particularly in view of the fact i am rwd. so the notion of a "mismatch" is mitigated somewhat.

the tread type(s) as near as i can tell btw the pss and the ps2 are not very different. ( visually! ). i figure it's a reasonably "safe" experiment. but then why i am switching from ps2 fronts? to save a hundred per tire? it's a toss up.
