looking into a rear wing for a 996tt. Just something that bolts on and is able to raise and lower like stock wing. Probably in carbon fiber. misha has not been looking to hot lately, so I was hoping for other quality products????

 

the GT2 "add-on" style wings seem pretty slick, and let you keep the hydraulic function. I'm sure someone other than Misha makes it.

What do you mean by Misha is not looking too hot lately?

 

Hi all,

I just saw this post regarding a comment about Misha Designs. Anyone have been in contact with them lately?

In the last year, I've been having trouble with my leaky wing hydraulics and was considering going to a fix wing option. I saw several solutions at WERKS in Monterey and at Carlson's Concourse...some had Misha's GT2 add-on wing, some had the fixed GT2 lid and wing...After talking to few people and searching this forum, I decided on a Misha GTM1 wing in Carbon Fiber for my 996TT.

I contacted Misha a month ago and place an order...Alex said lead time was 2 to 3 weeks...Since it was carbon Fiber and they haven't sold a GTM1 wing in carbon for 8 years, he wanted full payment up front...I wired him $$$s...

About 3 weeks went by and I haven't heard from them...now it's exactly one month...I've sent emails numerous times asking for an update and called them a couple of times but got an answering machine...no reply on email or telephone..
I'm getting a little nervous about this...

I'm curious anyone else have experienced this?

 

Mike at Misha responded today and said they were out of the country for two weeks...Alex will be back in the office tomorrow they said...

I'm in the same boat as you with Misha right now. It has been pretty frustrating. They are difficult to get a hold of. I talked to Alex 3 weeks ago and at the time he told me the piece I ordered would ship in a week. They are 2 weeks delinquent on that commitment now and not a word from them.

 

tell you the truth I like OEM wing. I would go with OEM $150 mod from ebay and raise up a little and leave it that way, than worry about leaks, or spending money- I actually took pump out, to cut extra weight- I like oem Look anyways

 

I thought about the ebay fixed wing option, but you have to gut your own unit to use his system. There is another guy that have the same fix but he provides the parts at about $250. I may want to try and rebuilt the current unit for the next owner. So, I'm thinking about maybe doing the $250 option and the Misha raised GTM1 wing. The GTM1 wing is a little bigger than the OEM one, but not as big as the GT2 option...

So, I hope all this resolve itself soon...seeing other people experiencing issues like this is frustrating. When I was in business, I always made sure I contacted all emails and phone calls at day's end or latest next morning...even when I'm traveling...

The strosek wing has to be considered.

 

I'm sure someone other than Misha makes it.
