First Drag Track visit
First Drag Track visit
The temperatures here in FL cooled down to 87 versus 97 so I decided to take a trip to the local drag track and see how my new found love performs. My first pass was a 12.3 @ 116mph. I honestly expected a bit more mph to signal that I had a sub 12sec pass. I wanted to run an 11.9 or better but knew I had some driving to do. A couple more passes and I was able to go 11.927 @ 118mph. I was happy with the time but not satisfied. I'll try again when it gets cooler here in FL. I figure new tires and suspension will help since these items can use a refresher. Of course, its easy to go to the drag track but can't wait to try the car in what its meant to do, run a road course.
Sounds like my first time

I too was expecting faster, turned out I was actually down on power that day too.
What were your 60fts and how much boost were you running? Any mods or bone stock?

I agree that I assumed the mph would have been faster. Figure that I definitely need diverter valves changed because I don't see anything in the record about them being replaced and confirm there are no boost leaks. As far as the log, I don't have a way to log the data. I am assuming that the only way is with a datametric cable.
I agree. Definitely miss my supra at the drag track but can't wait to make a road course attempt in the P Car

Have a question for Tim941NYC and Markski. Coming home I noticed some white smoke and luckily I was near the house when it happened so made it home safely. Glad I decided to leave the track when I did. I have taken the fuel pump and the metal pipe alongside it off to inspect the coolant reservoir. It looks clear but when I pour water into it I here water leaking right in the middle of the engine. I can't pin where it is coming from. I changed the water pump a couple of months ago an the thermostat and didn't notice anything loose but the leak seems to be further back. I think it might be one of the fittings that is loose but what baffles me is why the coolant leaks when I pour into the reservoir. Is there a hose I am missing? I can't seem to understand why the fitting would leak if the car is off and the thermostat is not open for the water to circulate. Will probably pull the alternator to take a closer look but almost ready to pull the motor. Would like to avoid that though since I would take it to a friend's shop to do so and would like to keep the work at the house. Any ideas guys?
Thanks in advance.

That's what I am thinking but I would have thought that the water wouldn't make its way to the engine with a closed thermostat.

I swapped my exhaust to a catless one without a retune. Basically mini-cats were installed on the secondaries but I don't think they saw enough flow.
It looks like the rear o2s affect fuel trims cause it caused it to run super rich.

Pulled the aletrenator today and confirmed that the right pipe behind it popped out. Time to pull the motor and possibly do some upgrades. I know at least the GT2 Slave conversion will be done since I was waiting for a clutch job but this bumps up that process.
Almost a month later and my friends called me to say they were going to the track so I said why not. Got there a bit late but somehow squeezed a 11.6 @ 120 with a 1.6 60'. The car bogged a bit between the 1st and 2nd shift which was a bit weird so think there is still an 11.4-11.5 left in her. Maybe 11.3 when it cools down on a perfect pass.
