Ugh...coolant leak!

So i should have left good enough alone....BUT I felt like removing the muffler bracket when I was putting my straight pipes back in again. I had the motor supported but when I loosened the upper pass. side bolt the lower seal (rubber) started leaking!! Why in the world would that pipe start leaking by pulling the bracket off!?? Everything is back together and it's still leaking....although very slowly. What should I do? Does the seal need to be replaced now?
Here's the seal thats leaking...

Thanks!
Scot

The seals (o-rings and dust seal) in there are very easy to replace. But lots of coolant will come out. Jack the back and remove the drain plug on the elbow. Order the seals on the picture and also a new crush washer for the drain plug….See picture…Only two bolts to remove per elbow….

I had the same issue after I lowered my engine to replace the diverter valves.
The local dealer had the O-rings and it was an easy fix.

Just drain the coolant to be safe. Replace the seal o rings. Fill up with new coolant, start the car. Let the bubbles escape add more coolant. Done. There are few diy about coolant drain.

You know the reason it let go is because those bolts that hold the exhaust bracket on also hold the coolant manifold which is what seals those rubber ring gaskets.

You'd probably be okay just putting it back together as long as you don't crimp or pinch anything. I had the same problem but had to pull out the manifold piece to get my turbo oil line out of it.

Can you explain this a little more? My car had both seals leaking when I bought it. I changed them out but the passenger side one leaked again...changed that, and now it's leaking AGAIN :/

I'm starting to think maybe I have oil or coolant dripping down onto it from above somewhere?

thanks

Yea I figured that those bolts held something....just didn't think it held the coolant manifold until it started leaking. It totally ruined my day but I feel better now that it's an easy fix. Like you said, hopefully nothing is crunched between there now! I'll make sure to check.

Hummmm…..These four bolts hold only the elbows and to replace these seals it is a very easy task…I don't know why your talking about removing the water pump housing and the turbo tank oil return pipes ????

Exactly jp. You shouldn't. But those are bolts he took out to remove the muffler bracket.

It's what made them start leaking.
