Sequential Shifter? Any feedback? (sqs/m7)
drag racing is won and lost in the first 60 ft and reaction time. this shifter won't help either. if your using the clutch then the pattern doesn't matter . in road racing thats another story. (huge amounts of up and down shifting).
the only way you will get faster at this would be a "no lift shifting" file that allows you to keep your foot planted on the throttle while simultaneously engaging the clutch and shifting. hard to do as its not really natural and you have to really think about it while racing. not easy. cheaper to learn how to launch consistently and faster. if you can get 1.5 or lower 60 ft times with your power it will be hard to get beat

Yea I guess at times it would be more for piece of mind of never miss shifting and then also having the shifter so high up near the steering wheel. I guess it was something I was brainstorming if I could find it used for a good price then I would do it, but no way at that 6500 price lol.
I wish we had drop ins like american cars have available..... like a 4L80E
take a oem auto send it to paramount performance and have builder bill mod it. its a mercedes trans and he can build them to handle 1000 hp. of course then you have to deal with the awd issues associated with an auto
I don't see how a shifter based sequential is faster, every thing depends on the speed of the driver and the distance of the throw. I've seen some in action and none of them look faster. In fact they look slower as you can engage the clutch on an h pattern as soon as the shifter clears the gate, on a sequential they seem to wait for the shifter to return to it's position before clutching out.

its your money but the CAE won't help you at a drag strip. it may be taller but your still using an h pattern and a clutch. better launch control, no lift shifting and practice is what will win a race. gadgets designed for road racing won't. just my .02
I do a lot of roll racing. I will do some drag but mainly roll on sundays.

This guy can DRIVE!!! So dirty lol
This is the way it works in race condition!!
This was the second time with the SQS so I became faster with it later in the season, actually almost to fast for the syncs... This not a dogbox to be clear about that!

There is nothing to be faster. The shifting mechanism and process is the same. The only way to make it quicker is to shorten the throw. No different than true sequential shift levers vs paddle shifters. Data would show little/no difference. The benefit is no missed shift.
