Sequential Shifter? Any feedback? (sqs/m7)
I know of one guy who runs a sequential shifter on his high HP car.
I am looking for feedback from guys who have ran a SQS/M7 Sequential shifter?
I was pondering it for next season, just basically u preset the next gear just depress the clutch, I would think it would help make the car faster in a straight line and eliminates the chance missing a gear or just a bad shift......etc.

ask randy he has one iirc.
Unless your chasing HP-limitations, not a lot of "street" cars using them -- the 9ff GTurbo, EVOMS Mayhem, BBi Kong Porsche all use sequential transmissions (IIRC, they all use Hollinger's).
Not sure if you can get the factory ECU to play nice converting to a sequential, but you're probably better off (logistically & financially) buying a modded/re-geared trans & proper short throw shifter (Numeric or CAE).

Pretty sure Kong just uses a sequential shifter not transmission.

thats up you and your needs.
If I can scoop it up used, I think I will at least try it out. Powdrhound sold his for like 2k. Thats not awful in my opinion.
That's what I'm doing. And I already have a short shifter in the car.
drag racing is won and lost in the first 60 ft and reaction time. this shifter won't help either. if your using the clutch then the pattern doesn't matter . in road racing thats another story. (huge amounts of up and down shifting).
the only way you will get faster at this would be a "no lift shifting" file that allows you to keep your foot planted on the throttle while simultaneously engaging the clutch and shifting. hard to do as its not really natural and you have to really think about it while racing. not easy. cheaper to learn how to launch consistently and faster. if you can get 1.5 or lower 60 ft times with your power it will be hard to get beat

Take a look at the CAE shifter, I think that's what your looking for. 2nd to 3rd to 4th are straight push and pull because of the self center spring on the shifter. Also - the shifter is right next to the wheel.

I use my car for roadrace and it gives me the benefit of not missing a gear both in up and downshifts.. It´s also slightly faster then a traditional H-system. You still need to use the clutch.
But a real Seq gearbox take away the possibility to use the car on the street. The Dogrings makes it jump like a rabbit if you are not going flat out and it also wears out pretty fast as its a rebuild time of the seq boxes of 30h..
