Sequential Shifter? Any feedback? (sqs/m7)
There is nothing to be faster. The shifting mechanism and process is the same. The only way to make it quicker is to shorten the throw. No different than true sequential shift levers vs paddle shifters. Data would show little/no difference. The benefit is no missed shift.
Second I wanted to mention is that you have a electric piston that pushes the gear in with SQS so that also makes it a little bit faster for a non pro.
But the single most important thing is that you don't miss a gear, not that is much faster!
I would never go with a CAE.
Either a seq like SQS or a version like the 996GT3R Which I had previously and is Porsche OEM and really precise, huge difference to 996TT OEM.
I dont think the CAE will give much extra on top of that!

Reverse lockout, centralized spring, makes 2-3-4 just a simple push pull, springs on each side for 1-2 and 5-6 so you know you are going into the correct gear. I also like the ergonomics of having the shifter higher, more time for your hands to be on the wheel. After thinking it over for a primarily street car the sequential would just be too annoying after some time and I do see a good amount of people removing them from their cars once they have had it. Plus the thing looks like a work of art and really liked it personally after doing a good amount of research. People love the CAE shifter.
Installed the shifter today, definitely took longer then I thought but here is a quick camera phone shot, I am modifying the center console to show off the majority of the bracket. Will take more photos down the line.......
That second vid of Keen is a manual H box (no dog), he's just so talented he makes it sound like a dog box. There's a vid of Sofronas driving a 6 Cup at Fontana and it sounds the same way. GT3 Cup box is a great gear box (H manual). I beat the hell out of my Hollinger "sequential" in the 7 Cup but it still required clutch use on downshifts.
I don't see how a shifter based sequential is faster, every thing depends on the speed of the driver and the distance of the throw. I've seen some in action and none of them look faster. In fact they look slower as you can engage the clutch on an h pattern as soon as the shifter clears the gate, on a sequential they seem to wait for the shifter to return to it's position before clutching out.

Man that interior just rocks! Wow... Wish I will transform my car someday into that

You can have dog gears with a H pattern and no lift shifts
