MAF photo. Does this look original or new?

MAF photo. Does this look original or new?

Is there a way to identify whether a MAP is the original unit installed at the factory or a replacement unit? Judging by the condition of the decal mine looks very old.

That isn't the MAF. The MAF is right after the airbox and held in with two torx screws.

if i'm not mistaken? you're looking at a map sensor. not the mass air flow meter i have linked

the correct part will always end in 12400 though the 986 ( boxter part ) will also function.
