so i went to the chevy dealer today....
so i went to the chevy dealer today....
interesting experience. Besides the two new z06s they had there, i had the most expensive car and nobody even greeted me.
Anyway, they had two new z06s; onse silver on black with no options, and one black on black with 2 or 3 options. Both had a market availability readjustment of 30K. the silver one totaled at 98K and the black one was 104k (these are prices BEFORE TAX, tag and title).
Up close examination of the cars proved that they are similar to the expected quality of all chevy vehicles. Fit and finish was not a top priority and neither were quality parts on the interior.
The car had delivery miles and was still wrapped in plastic, however, the duct on the front bumper was already peeling. There is a titanium like coating on the intake duct taht is similar to the titan shadow trim on the interior of a bmw m3 and it was almost 30 percent peeled off already.
The car has a lot of plastic pieces on it and makes it look really cheap. I think maybe if they used painted parts instead it would look 100 times better. It actually "looks" like its cheaper quality than the base model c6 vette.
I couldnt belive they wanted over 100k for the car. Anyone that buys one of these cars is looking for performance only. dont get me wrong, it looks mean, but up close, it looks really really cheap. for a 100K price tag, that shouldnt be the case, even if it is a vette.
I'd like one for 70k (a good performance value), but 105K + tax is really out of line.

I have a C6 ( not the Z06 ) and the quality is great.
Just as good as my Porsche. I have taken the C6 on many trips as I have the 996.
Now the Viper is crap next to them when it comes to over all car and quality. Dont get me wrong though I like the Viper.
Now if the C6 had TT's on it like the Porsche .....

I went to a Porsche dealer in S500 walked around a very small showroom about 3 times and all the sales guys were sitting about 20 feet away in a big class from ceiling to ground cubicle and no one stepped into the showroom to see if I needed some help. Thsi happen twice in 3 weeks. Needless to say I did buy my TT from there. Later after I bought my TT I wanted to drive through their showroom with a HUMMER with the TT strapped down to the roof with the words... FU on the grill... Then I woke up.
