Is a k16 Hybrid the same thing as Billet k16?
The record that our client ran was on a k16 billet set up that cost less then $2k.
Check my signature and read up
Good luck

is there any "consensus" re the differences btw the 16 billet turbos and the older 16/24's in terms of performance in an "obvious" way, or is it pretty much whichever one just had a better day?
if i ever needed to replace them i would sure miss that fast spool but i would probably opt for 28's from all i've read. or..
do billet 16's OUTperform any run of the mill 24 setup; hybrid or not?.. i suppose I could "search".. i guess the only way to really know is to drive em ( other than graphs ) but it's immediately apparent in these cars, going from 16's to 24's or.. 16/24's.

Thank you! Do you mean cost less than $3K rather than $2K?
Actually I also have my own "stupid" questions...
What do the "G" and "18" mean when you say K24/18g?
What is the real interest to choose Garret rather than KKK turbocharger?
To me, KKK is a great (the greatest I thought) brand, but all tuned cars run with Garrets. Is there a good reason for that?

Garret's don't fit a Porsche. The only company that makes their version of one are tial Alpha but even those are not external Wg turbos with real garret A/R hotsides.
Mitsubishi wheels are 16g / 18g/30g
These have Been replaced by lighter billet newer technology wheels.
OK! So the 18G is just a size of Mitsubishi brand? but not a real good stuff nowadays?
What WAS their advantages so?
Thank you very much for your answer.
Yes, when I say Garret, I mean Hybrid with Garret, but I don't know why they do that. I can see that 911 tuning sell custom Garret based turbos, why? (By the way, the ext wastegates are beautiful! It would fit great with my straight pipes that is a little "alone", lost in the big space made for original exhaust... 2 tubes on each side as 935 would be so perfect, but too expensive for me...)

g denotes Mitsubishi wheels.
We actually started to use them 10 plus years ago. It has worked well when nothing else was even on the market.
Those custom turbos like any off The shelf need special headers , 44 mm wgs, and exhaust must be fitted.
Just my special sauce turbo thay holds a record 60 to 130 mph on a 996.

Talk about the ski850GT Custom Turbo?

because oem kkk direct replacement turbos are small. the biggest hp setup on a kkk is k24 with lets say a billet spec II wheel Or a tial 7 blade 68mm compressor.
because 996s only come with k16s or k24s... thats your baseline...
