Exclamation front windshield wipers quit moving, but I can hear the motor?

Anyone know what would make my front wipers just stop? 2004 Cayenne turbo. (that forum is dead, so I'm posting here) I can move them passively with no problem. The rears to work, fuse is good, no problem with the lever, and I can hear the motor working as usual with the typical back and forth sound, but nothing moving either front wiper. Linkage? Can the motor's shaft just disconnect from the linkage? Thanks for any help. It's raining hard, so I can't take it apart to look any further at the moment. Can't plug her into my Diametric yet to look for codes, but the wiper motor sounds fine even speed changes, but no motion at the wipers. Any thoughts? My other Porsche daily driver has a busted window regulator, so I'm desperate to fix wiper issue soon.

If you hear the motor running its most likely the linkage= can you remove cover and take a look?

I'm pretty sure you'll see the problem if you look at the motor. Either a gear is stripped or the linkage isn't linked.

Finally stopped raining and I did find the drive shaft to the motor's nut was nearly falling off. It was an easy fix. I did notice the underside of my wiper blade that bolts to the linkage was nearly cracked off on one side. I tried to secure that better, but that's strange. Someone must have installed the linkage wrong in the past or something. It's working now, but need a wiper arm it looks like too.
