i'm just playin man.. though i stand by porsche's implied assessment that 18's are optimal for the car, as evidenced by them being the gt2/3 fit. but i just hated 19's for the aforementioned reason(s)... thats all

to each their own,..and mods are always a trade-off on one level or another. but agree tire choices in 18 are an impediment to saving $!

I run these sizes too. Go with 245/35 up front. 225/35 is too small, 225/40 could be possible depending on suspension settings.

Save this post and repost as required because p556guy is right. The next closest combo given what is readily available is 245/35 and 295/30.

First off, that 3% number is all hearsay. No one knows for sure.
Second, you are moving to 2.4% in the wrong direction if the fronts are spinning faster than the rears.

Can you run 305 and 235? Sure. Is it going to be ok? Possibly, no one can say for sure. What we can say is with that tire size you will not get torque to the front until the rears slip.

The MOST CORRECT tire size in 19s is going to be 315/25 and 235/35 in a 996TT

OP, I'm in the middle purchasing tires and 315's are a pain to source... If that matters to you.PS2's back ordered, Toyos the same everywhere I've called. Approx wait, 60 days! I've placed a WTB/ searched ebay so I can drive my yellow baby home til a full set is in stock (and I will be hoarding an extra set all well!). More and more manufacturers appear to stop making this size a well:/.

Okay, between this board and the 'other one' I think I'm going to procrastinate. My ideal wheels cost twice as much as the BBS CH-Rs but they are pretty much an exact match for the existing 18"ers - it's just galling to think of spending that much on them but I guess you can't take it with you as they say. Anyway, thanks for all the information - this is the car as it stands
