997TT intake on a 996TT/GT2?
As the title states, has anyone successfully adapted the 997TT aluminum intake on the 996TT engine? The 997TT intake is supposed to be superior but not a simple bolt on from what I understand. Anyone know whats involved and/or if it's worth in? I've read about this being done but have never seen pictures or details of the mod. Car would need to remain emissions compliant and retain the secondary air pump. Merry Christmas everyone..
Yes, good to go. Takes work and isn't a simple bolt in.
To make it worth it: Port Heads, 997 Intake Manifold, 997 plenum and Throttle Body (or gt3 versions), reroute/organize lines, Y Pipe, retune....etc

Thats what I'm gathering. Would be great to see some pics..
Ill try to find some.
I assumed he was talking about the 997TT manifolds. Its just a silver colored plastic manifold.

Mine was reinforced with fiberglass on the seam, then covered. Pretty much overkill. I know plenty of guys that run these manifolds well over 2 bar with ZERO issues........

Are the 997GT2 manifolds also an option??

i thinbk chris at usp motorsports has some custom made units for his gt2. they were huge and I'm guessing moved a ton of air. i think theres some pics on here somewhere
You will be fine with the stock 997tt intake manifolds as dont run so much boost, this guy I am talking about ran like 2bar for like 2months almost daily..
1.5-1.6bar and I suppose we can run them safely for lifetime
This guy went in the end with a gt2 aluminium intake, for me covering in fiberglass seems a bit complicated , but if I would find someone to do it, I may go for it as it's a simple workarround, I know other tried this in the past, but didnt work so well, and other are using them well over 2bar in stock form and they still work for 1-2 years ...
How much is the 997 intake runners ? I already have a 82mm plenum/tb and wonder if isnt easier to go for an aftermarket intake or even gt3 (needs port matching too)
By the other hand, my car keeps power up on top over 7000rpms with a simple oem 996tt intake manifolds, the 997s are supposed if I am not wrong to provide gains in the middle range, dont know how much would this help for a race track car and this scenario...

Thanks for the picture! Do these manifolds provide any type of meaningful improvement in moderate 1.3 bar applications or is this mainly useful for high boost apps? I will not be running anything higher than 1.3
