Video: BMW M6 vs. 911 Turbo (996) standard
I agree, the TT is way to slooooooow in this race. It is either staged, something badly wrong with the car or the guy does not know how to drive.
As already stated, the M6 may have 80 horses on the TT but it also weighs 700lbs more. It could not run off and leave the TT the way it did IMO.

Feel free to show me information to the contrary though.
Shiggins I dont know what your problem is but go to the BMW website dont trust me
The site states the M6 wieghs 1785 Kilos which is roughly 4000 lbs.
The unsprung wieght ratio of the BMW is probably even more and the scale is not linear- its almost exponential. It takes alot more horsepower to get an even heavier vehicle going.
Thats why guys who mod their TTs dont notice 50-75 HP that much-
I thought the TT wieghs 3300lbs
(at least the 993 did)
Oh wait a second you have the BMW marketing guide. Face it these guys came in trolling.

I don't know why they came here, and you are probably correct, to troll. But, trying to dismiss the results of their test through fictional facts doesn't help your cause.

BMW M6 V-10 507 HP SMGIII vs. 911 Turbo 996 generation. Both cars are standard and the 911 had 70 000 km on it. BMW M6 37 000 km. The BMW M6 has the identical powerplant and gearbox to the BMW M5.
I believe it. Im on the M5 board all the time.
The weight doesn't really matter when you get up to those speeds. I can believe it because the new M5 is faster than a stock TT and the M5 weighs more. from 100-200kph the M5 is 9.3 sec, and a stock TT is 10.4
Info is from track-challenge.com
Just so you know, I could give a ****. I don't like the new M5 or M6. But the M6 is faster.

FYI...the M6 has ran a 12.2 @ 120.5 mph, bone stock. It also went 0-200 KPH in 12.8 seconds. 0.3 seconds faster than a 2005 Turbo S. Also, it's 100-200kph time is .4 seconds faster than the Turbo S'. It's very strong from a roll.
M6:

Turbo S:

You guys are underestimating the advantage it's 8,250 rpm redline in conjunction with it's 7-speed SMG transmission gives it.
It's very fast. Stock for stock it's considerably faster than a stock, non-X50 or S TT.
The negative? It won't respond to mods nearly as well as the TT does.
P.S. - The new and heavier M5 traps 118-119 mph.

In this world of turbos and GT cars thats really slow- REALLY slow. Now the m6 has 500 hp compared to the 420 of the TT but wieghs 700 more pounds. YUP you full O crap.

Forget about comparing the 2 cars in the video. The time it took to obtain maximum speed of the BMW of 155 was pathetically slow. Period. If it beat the TT, then TT was even more pathetically slow. 30 -150 in 18 seconds just isn't quick. The guy driving the BMW didn't know how to shift properly either. Probably wasted a couple of seconds just switching gears. I suspect that the TT driver was sight seeing or didn't know what gear to be in.
If that is all the M6 has to offer, I look forward to running into one someday. The M6 has a nice looking front end I could admire it in my rear view mirror.

So, tell us why either car is considered fast when it took so long to get from 30 mph to 150? These cars can get to 150 from a dead stop faster than that. Something is not right. Videos that are time stamped do not lie. Like I said, that was a very slow race. But if you're impressed, I am happy for you.

Do you think the guys on m5board have any reason to lie? They did a shootout between the m5 and a ton of cars and had many unbiased opinions. Yes, the BMW V10 is faster than a stock non x50 turbo, not hard to believe.
Plus the driver of the porsche posted, what reason does he have to lie? For fun to amuse you?

They were going from a roll also, it takes a lot of hp to get something heavy moving but once an object is already in motion is doesn't take as much force to accelerate it. For an old guy, either your memory from school isn't serving you or alzheimers is setting in.
