mid 2000's on catted straight pipes...'no' drone when my Milltek is on
think I might start modding my straight pipes in attempt to control drone/resonance...if it fails, the Milltek goes back on

Starts at 2K peaks around 2400, starts to go away around 3K. Very wearing to say the least! Unobtanium is sending me my exhaust this week, W00T!

I don't get why there isn't a Helmholtz resonator expert within spitting distance of every tuner's shop. Blows my mind. I'd be there ASAP if I could find one.

Oh, to answer the question, about 2400.

I'm building some. That's why I asked the question.

More than anything I wondered the variance on people's cars.

We've all got the same engine architecture and displacement, it's not going to vary...

My 100 cell Milltek doesn't drone and I have larger 2.75'' tail pipes exiting the mufflers.
But my last catless Fabspeed 2.75'' X pipe with there small mufflers was bad from 2200 to 3000,,so much so I put the Milltek back on.

I have a SpeedTech 70 mm exhaust that I bought used. The wife wouldn't drive in it because the drone was too loud. The drone was pretty bad 2200-3000. I added these little babies just inside the exhaust tips. I just experimented with the opening until I found a size that stopped the drone. Yes, it does increase the back pressure a bit, but it is better than the stock exhaust and still sounds great.

Milltek here too and no drone. I was following my car the other day with a friend driving it, and it sounded more aggressive than I thought it did. Really liked it.

For the record - this SpeedTech 70mm twin can exhaust is no longer produced and has not been sold for several years due to the fact that we have substantially improved upon both the sound attributes and performance with our X-cellerator Series X-Flow exhausts. This was our original 70mm twin can design system, which IMO, did drone too much and was the impetus to design a new, improved sounding system. The current SpeedTech Exhaust systems are completely different in every way and bear no resemblance to the older 70mm twin can design or sound.
