great video. i like how they show what actually fails for those that haven't seen it. not sure why they would go to all that trouble then simply glue it back in. at that point weld it and never worry about it again

Ditto, spend the $200 and buy the water pipe kit and weld it on. That's what I just did.

I thought there were some instances of people having pinhole leaks with welding. Is there a more reliable way to weld than others that would prevent this?

testing solves this. pinholes develop from improper cleaning. if you do everything in the video then welding is a permanent way to go. out of 8 fittings i had a single pinhole leak which was found and repaired. not a single drop since.

I also end up with pin holes twice, after welding. That is why I recommend to do a pressure test before installing the engine. The water pump housing was difficult to weld properly because of impurities in the casting….No sign of any leaks and the welding was done two years ago….

This can go either way for many conversations. JB Weld and pinning will never yield a "pinhole" and will outlast the car....IMHO

Hey guys,I know there are many threads on this..
My question is,,,Is it a matter of time until it happens to our cars?
I have 50,000 miles and its a 2004. Some say the later models, like mine, were fitted better? I have no idea..
Thanks

Wright Motorsports does the pinning method along with apoxy. I'm taking my car there for this process on February 9th.

Does the engine have to come out to remove the coolant assembly?

I think the funniest thing about the video is the fact that it skips to "Now that the engine is out"...

Skip the coolant line repair, I'll figure that out. Tell me how to get the engine out!!!
