Another coolant line failure...
Yes, I had it done at All German Auto in Escondido. I was into the entire job (coolant line repair, clutch, coils, plugs, water pump, new belts, hoses, seals, ...) for about $6500.
so.. how do one get to the "UNreachable" ones, with motor in? or is it SUCH a pita that no one really even bothers to try. that i would understand.
so again, to be clear.. ! all ( what is it 6? or is it 8 lines?? ) can actually be gotten to with the motor in?! are there any stories of this occurring? I've never read of any.. just wonderin'. thx.
first i'd ever heard of it, and i thought i'd read it all. that changes my take on the whole "pre-emptive" deal. it wouldn't be ME dealing with the PITA.
but a motor drop is gonna have to be necessary first for ME to address that issue absent failure IF it can't actually be done, with motor in.

It's been documented and in this forum, including which crazy drill adapter was used. Done within the last year too! Not something I'm willing to get crazy and try though, I figure the engine will get dropped eventually and I'll pin. JB may not be the best either, other preps have been mentioned along with knurling if the fitting is out...
I have used jb weld 3 years ago and no leaks.
Guys remember me Do a search for good news on coolant fittings I pinned all eight fittings with the motor in the car
This is the video of the knurling and jb weld repair I had done to my coolant fittings.

But, you will be able to pin every fitting with the motor in the car
This is true. However, it is my understanding that pinning will only prevent the coolant fitting from popping out. It will not stop any leaking caused by degradation of the glue.
That's what shark works does and every other GT 3 cup team
They pin they don't knurl
The glue is simply to hold, it's not being used as a sealant really. If the fitting doesn't move you apparently don't get a leak. JBweld IS a glue, an epoxy, but still acting as a glue. You don't have to pull them all apart to do this.
First, happy new year everyone. I got a little carried away in my post above. Cup teams do weld the fitting but nearly all GT3 street cars get the fittings pinned. Why? to prevent them from coming out and dumping all your coolant. And also to enter track events. Now Sharkworks drops the motors AND he still pins the fittings. I had a fitting blow out on my car and thats why I pinned EVERY fitting to prevent this from happening again. I do not want to be on boost going to Las Vegas and having this happen. It is a preventative procedure that everyone should do. That all I am saying.
To knurl every fitting on your cars means dropping the motor and heating up every fitting and regluing. If your going to do this then WELD. So knurling is out unless you have a fitting already removed.....does that make sense?? Do all eight boys,,,,its pretty simple, Mike
