FVD 340 Carbon cracking issues
FVD 340 Carbon cracking issues
Just wanted to see if anybody else is having the same issues that I'm having with my FVD 340mm Carbon steering wheel? As you can see I have full carbon interior by DB carbon with no sun cracks whatsoever but my steering wheel is cracking in every place possible. I always thought that FVD was top quality and this is surprising. Anybody know anyone that can repair carbon with good quality in the states?

The sad thing is that since this picture it has gotten even worse. The top carbon piece must have 4 large cracks, at least. Not sure what epoxy or clear FVD used on these wheels but man sure is very disappointing.
Thanks... I was under the impression the Atiwe was the manufacturer but I could be wrong.
mines the same 340mm in leather/alum and the workmanship is incomparable. but it sucks to have that happen on a $1000+ wheel
have you called/emailed rhonda@fvd? she has a great rep for getting stuff done. i would try at least, if you haven't.

Sorry to hear about that. Can you email or pm me your information and I can check our system to see what can be done. To my knowledge Atiwe wheels carried a 2 year warranty which is fairly standard in Europe.
Those wheels are made by Atiwe in Germany who also manufacture the Raid wheels. We stopped selling those wheels at least 3 years ago now, as bringing them in added to much cost. The airbags are on an explosives list with customs and shipping is astronomical for special "explosives" type packaging.

..and there ya have it. its safe to say that Rhonda's reputation is well deserved.
my raid with airbag had no additional charges associated with expletives, just small duty fee from carrier from the Belgium shipment being the country of origin.

Thats good for guy's to know, German UPS / Fed Ex is very strict when it comes to that.
Gert has an excellent relationship with Fed Ex from what I understand, so he would be your go to guy for Atiwe.

Honestly I was surprised myself since I've seen a few with no issues. Seems like the clear was not applied correctly but will see what happens. I was contacted by Rhonda the first day but never heard back. I might be on my own since that was almost a few weeks ago.
