Looking for Booster Seat that actually fit our 996's
I found one that fit, but the seat belt receptacle in the car is angled forward, and I couldn't get the child seat tight enough.
convertible/booster seat for 996
In case anyone is still looking for a child seat for the 996, I use a Diono Radian RXT in my 996 Turbo, which I believe has the same seat size/shape as the 997. I was able to fit it forward-facing without removing the seatback and without using an angle adjuster, and the fit is tight - no wobble. Using the rear tether was crucial, though. Without it there was a lot of front-to-back wobble. The base of the seat is 13.5 inches wide. My 35-lb four-year-old is quite happy in it. It provides side protection for his head if I take a corner a little fast, and the cup-holder even fits when the seat's installed. That's one more cup-holder than I have...
The seat fits infants rear-facing (not that I'd necessarily use if for that in the Turbo), then forward-facing in 5-point harness up to 80 pounds, and then as a belted booster up to 120 pounds, so it should last him a while. I'm happy to keep him in the 5-point as long as possible. I briefly considered the Cosco seat, but the steel frame of the Radian and its side protection for the head won me over. (It's not like we have side curtain airbags in the back of our 996s.) It also has memory foam harness-strap covers that are really cushy, and even a pad around the lower strap that goes between the lower harness buckle and the crotch - nice for a little boy! And I got it in a sporty red color that looks great in the back of the Turbo and which my son doesn't find babyish.

My kids dont ride in the car much, but i have these for when they do. They are 3.5 and 5 years old. The 5 year old would be fine in the stock seat, but due to the laws in Nj we need to use one of these. My 3 year old boy fits perfectly in his seat.

Edit: I had tried the Rainer r100. May be different. I just ordered this to give it a test.

I can also confirm that none of the Recaro seats fit. I have a Recaro Performance Sport and Performance Booster in the Panamera so I tried both in back of the 996tt. Unfortunately the base is too wide.
I gave up experimenting and ordered the Porsche Junior Plus from Champion Porsche down here in S. FL. Fits like a glove with or without the seat bottom cushion.

$280 isn't terrible for a seat that fits. Looks nice too. Hopefully my local dealer has one in stock.
I picked up a $40 Harmony today just to have something to use around town until I can get something better. I don't see it being a long road trip comfortable seat. It does fit nicely but it's built as expected for $40.
