Need some info and pics for GT2 front bumper ducting

I am collecting parts for GT2 center radiator ducting and have been doing a bunch of research before I compile all the parts. I know several people have done the conversion her and know what all is involved. Mikelly's post provides quite a lot of insight into the process and what bolt on OEM parts are required. But, as I tend to do when planning a project I look into all alternate solutions for the issue at hand to determine what parts are worth buying versus building or modifying etc...

So to accomplish the proper center radiator ducting for the GT2 you have to flip and tilt the radiator. Then you space the bumper support farther forward to allow room for the over the hood radiator duct. So to do this you purchase the ducting, radiator hoses, radiator frames and the brackets to mount. The upper mounts to two tabs with a long bolt and two standoffs using clips to holt the duct which the bolts pass through from moving. That part is easy and not that expensive. The upper and lower radiator frames on the other hand appear to be a little more complex. It appears as though the upper and lower radiator frames are basically the same as the 996tt, but are made to mate with the radiator when flipped. So when searching for these brackets they are difficult to find. I have been quoted as being on back order and coming from Germany. Then their are the two side brackets that mount from the radiator frame to car to support the lower radiator. And they are not cheap. When pricing parts it costs about $2000 just to flip and reduction the center radiator. And that is if you can get all the parts. And of course this is not a cheap car to mod so I accept that I may just have to bite the bullet and wait for said parts.

My question is has anybody found an alternate method to the flip and tilt center radiator mod without those brackets that seem to be $400 each? Can the radiator just be tilted without being flipped? Does anybody have some pictures comparing the gt2 radiator brackets with the 996tt? Any info would be appreciated.

I have a full machine shop and sheet metal shop at my disposal to fab pieces. But if it costs the same amount of my time to build as buy I will buy.

See, I would rather share the info so that DIYers can make them themselves. Ya know, for the enthusiast community.

I'm installing a set of my radiators into my car right now, and not only did I buy the brackets - I've been waiting for two weeks for them to be delivered from Germany.. ugh

Been dying to get my car back next week.. Hopefully soon..

I'm really interested to know how you go about doing this if you opt not to do it the tradiaitonal way (i.e just buy the parts suggested for install).

So, I was able to use the existing center radiator brackets and bend them for the tilt. The center radiator flips and fits right. The only thing you need to do is rotate the radiator frame that has the upper two bolts so the tabs are closest to the duct. I easily made my own spacers, but honestly they are not too expensive to buy anyways. Here is the tilted radiator. The last pictures show the triangle bracket before bending. They are bent stock to tilt the top of the radiator aft towards the trunk tub. All you need to do is clamp the flat part that the radiator frame bolts to to keep flat while bending. You can test for the radiator with the spacers and while reading the lower part on the brackets before bending you can put a angle gauge of some sort and determine what angle you need to bend to. Then clamp and bend away. If you have ever fabricated or done any metal work this is super easy. It took me a total of maybe 30 minutes of bending, check, adjust etc. i would never buy the Gt2 brackets after seeing how easy it is to modify the existing.

Could you please take some photos of this bracket?

Also does anyone have any photos of the Center Air Duct to Grille?

Here is where the bend takes place. I did not remove the bracket at all. I hope this helps?

As for the center duct to grille. Which part? Are you looking for the duct to the hood grille or inlet bumper duct?
