'15 market price for 6GT2.
Every car has problems on the track and if you think a 996GT2 is bullet-proof, it ain't. That said, I bring up newer track cars because they have a warranty in case they do break. A GT2 does not. Furthermore, the American cars are as analog as they get with stability turned off and are not like the newer European cars with more driver-aids than you can learn in a month. I just don't think tracking a car that is appreciating is worth it unless you have been doing so already and have the car built. Why would anyone take a low mileage GT2 and turn it into a HPDE vehicle? And if you look at track times the GT2, while fast for it's time, is not any longer.
I passed on a few GT2's last year and am kicking myself and now that I am seeing 997GT3 prices creep up I may go GT4 or American very very soon. Living in Florida horsepower is king (Sebring, Homestead) and I hated having momentum cars for racing or the track down here. Was always getting smoked. So that is my main gripe against the Cayman. Oh yeah. That lifeless steering sucks too.

i have been to just a few road courses and the hpde i saw (never driven) had a ins. guy that you could buy ins. for just such a thing by the day. so the gt2 can have better ins than the new car
