Question for those running the Numeric Racing shifter. I installed one and still have very small amounts of play in neutral as well as in gear and it appears its due to the machining of the brass insert from the shift handle where it is pressed into the left side metal carrier (the white plastic piece on an OEM shifter). I already contacted Dan and he is going to send me a new piece with tighter tolerances but still I was under the impression this thing was supposed to be solid. It's a very good unit, but I think for the price point there should be ZERO play.

See the vids below for illustrative purposes and please let me know (for those who have installed) your thoughts:

Thanks>>>

Most people get rid of that and get this:

This is THE shifter for performance purposes. I have one and absolutely LOVE it. CAE is the best!!

No one is advertising. I am telling you brought the wrong shifter if you want absolutely no play and precise shifting. Its a good short shifter but obviously not what you were looking for. And if you are calling that expensive, that price point, you are driving the wrong car.

Again, not looking for people to recommend another shifter. I'm asking for feedback for users using THIS shifter, that's all. Yes, you're advertising another shifter that is not related to my initial question at all.

I'm sorry you feel I'm driving the wrong car. But yes, $6xx is expensive to me whether I drive a Honda or Ferrari.

Don't notice it on mine... but to be fair I haven't driven the car in 6 months and when I did get it installed I think the improvement was so far over the craptastic B&M that was in there I felt nothing but a positive change.

Thanks. The shifter does shift well and feels good in that regard but in neutral or in gear it still is able to have some wiggle. I thought it would really be solid and from the metal to metal noise (as heard in the video) I can ID the problem to the brass input in the metal cage.

I haven't noticed it on mine at all, but I did cables at the same time. compared to the 997ssk and stock cables that were in there before this thing feels fantastic.

Thanks.

If anyone with the shifter can just sit in the car in N or in gear and see if with light pressure the shifter has side to side play that would be excellent!

I believe mine had a tiny bit of play but I don't recall any noise - stock cables. The brass bushings were pretty tight but not a friction fit or anything. I'll have my car back in the next few days if things go as they should so I'll check when I get it back.

Never heard of the other shifter, I like the reverse lockout but not at the expense of my nice Alcantra boot or console clearance. That's also a pretty crazy price lol.
