minus 1 or 2 comments on the thread, imo there wasn't much bashing. The CS is a great car, no doubt about it. One of the best cars around.Originally posted by Red Devil

But that still doesn't excuse a Ferrari *** saying it will eat a Ruf 550 from 60 to 140.
he didn't say the Ferrari will win in the twisties, or the Ferrari will pick up more chicks, or the Ferrari is a great looker, or whatever. He said it will beat a Ruf 550 from 60 to 140. That comment is pure ignorance and pretty surprising considering most CS owners are serious enthusiasts that know lots about all types of sports cars ... like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if spider owners thought that way, but a CS owner?

I agree. It was a simple question answered, the people who talked bad about the CS or w/e are the exceptions who dont know anything lol, CS is a perfectly engineered car and does what it does best, to be on the track and you dont need 450+ hp on the track..Originally posted by alamein

But simply the 996tt, x50 and gt2 clearly win in a straight line race as asked.. And i agree, who wouldnt trade their car, some might say no but given the opporunity it would be extremely hard to pass up, im sure all of these people respect a great car such as the modena cs

Again, this won't be happening for a few weeks but I did want opinions.
I wish this car would freaking get here already!!!!!!!!!!
I can't imagine why he thinks it would be faster in a straight line, that is not what Ferrari is all about and never has been. The total package of the CS is very appealing, even compared to faster-accelerating cars.Originally posted by Griza

Both the Ruf and the CS are outstanding machines. I have driven neither, but being offered the keys to either car, I would have to choose the CS. Just for a little while...Then I would sober up and trade it for the Ruf.
As for the race, the Ruf will likely destroy the CS. Ferrari guys seem to LOVE to think their cars are the best at everything.

Gary you are 100% correct and that is what i was trying to point out.. The 360CS isnt such a monsterous straight line car such as a viper, z06 and amg cars, but yet is still very quick and so damm nimble on the track! Its about the car as a whole package, some people cant get past straight line BS Originally posted by tdf360

I actually raced Bill in his CS and Ruf with the GT3 on two separate occasions. 0 to 120MPH was dead even with the CS and 90 to 160MPH was "almost" even with the Ruf having a slight edge. GT3 handling is better and neither of these cars is meant to be a dragster. Yeah sure compared to a EVO700 these cars are slow on a straight line but they will might exceed it around a track.Originally posted by Bill S

Allan, if you are down here in SoCal. let us know. Bill and I will run against whatever you got. No shame loosing to a Lambo ... they are awesome cars. If there is anything that could be called a turd it would be the Chevy variety.

Dont get your panties ruffled here. As noted, Ferrari diehards worldwide were dissapointed with the CS. They found out that Ferrari took them to the cleaners and misrepresented the car to the world. There have been several lawsuits filed by Fcrar nuts worldwide. The car was touted as a racecar, yet when tested on 2 benchmark tracks, the results were all but mediocre. That is FACT. Ferrari lives offits HYPE, their F1 success does not transfer to its road cars. Any stock Fcar, is SLOWER on track than any corresponding entry level 996TT, GT3, and yes, dont forget Lambo rocks their world too.Originally posted by tdf360

Having driven a Stradale, I have to say I like it, but no way in hell I would give up the GT2 for it. The car has virtually no low end torque.
Bill, I thought you said the R Turbo 550 was faster than your Turbo R setup when you did some pulls against one?
Anyway, GT2 with R Turbo 550 should be interesting, shouldn't it?

Actually I never raced against an R Turbo 550. Ruf told me it was faster then my Turbo R. I suppose an R Turbo 550 in a GT2 should be close or slightly faster than a CGT.Originally posted by Hamann7

Both cars are radical who ****ing cares. Take em to the drag and take em to the track.
If you wanna win a straight line highway race build up a single turbo Supra-
If you wanna win on the track take a Ferrari or a Porsche.
Stop *****in and run whatcha brung!
