WTB: Exhaust
To augment what Mark stated, I can add another several years of 996TT exhaust manufacturing experience for anyone interested.....
What many people do not realize is that all X design exhausts are different and sound very different, some not so good. Just because it's an "X" design does not automatically make it sound good. An exhaust system is like a tuned musical instrument and the final harmonics are the product of the entire design - the bends, the "X", the tip design and parameters, etc. I can now look at an X-Pipe system and have a good idea how it will sound without even hearing it in person and often my predictions are right on, as I will get a call from a customer who just purchased the latest thing, only to discover the drone is unbearable or the sound is not that good. Basically, he made a mistake and how much for our exhaust...
We took the time to test a wide variety of X-merge styles and over 15 different tip styles to dial in the best sound we could achieve for the 996TT and that's what it takes to develop a proper system. The performance is there with most aftermarket exhausts - it's the sweet, exotic, thrilling, yet comfortable sound that most everybody is really after. A lot of the off shore stuff is just designed to bolt up and "fit" the car with no sound testing and it most often shows upon installation. These cars are too enjoyable to ruin with a poor exhaust choice and a poor sounding system will certainly ruin the driving experience - that I will guarantee.
My ultimate advice is - At the end of the day, don't purchase an exhaust based on cost alone because when you break it down over the time you will own your car, any difference in per month cost is not worth it, if you can't or don't enjoy driving the car. And the wrong exhaust choice will really ruin the ownership experience that otherwise can be a love affair with driving your car.

That's for a 997tt. Unless the 997 and 996 exhausts are universal. I was always under the impression they didn't fit up to our 996 headers.
me, i'd look seriously at a new kline myself but this is worth perusing/looking at least
