The o-ring is with the cap.

I had GT3 dip stick installed in my last engine out service and my mechanic cracked the bottom rib of the oil tube when he installed the engine back unfortunately took me few years figure out where it was leaking from since only leaked when added oil for new oil changes. I've asked a few times and Porsche mechanics say it's possible by lowering engine but no one ever confirmed as i would like to replace my oil tube as well while engine is in the car as it's only few bolts. Please lmk if you find a solution!

You should be able to change it easily with the engine lowered.

I don't know. The level sensor works fine for me. When I want to investigate my oil condition it is easy to take off the oil filter and have a look.

Having a dipstick is a more accurate way of measuring oil level. The oil level sensor is a known failure point. By adding a dipstick is cheap insurance. All of my other Porsche’s and BMWs have both a dipstick and an electronic measuring system. I purchased all the components several months ago from Germany, as inventory on these components will soon be unavailable.

You would have to lose like 7 quarts of oil before you might notice a problem on the oil pressure gauge. You would have to be like 4 down to have a potential oil temp problem, and you would have to be tracking hard to have an issue there.

Do you have any data to support your claim of "accuracy"? Perhaps you mean more reliable? I doubt the dipstick is a precise measurement, not that it needs to be that precise.

Yah it is accurate because you are physically putting the stick into the oil. Is this accuracy needed? It doesn't matter if the car is down a bit of oil. I can see some need on a hard tracked car though.

Not quite!😕 I was able to remove the filler tube, but still can’t figure out how to feed the metal guide tube into the oil tank. I am not sure this mod has ever been done with the engine in. Any ideas? I heard it was difficult with the engine out.

I do remember my mechanic mentioning it was a bit difficult to install the metal guide tube and he had most of the top engine removed because he also pinned my coolant hoses at same time when engine was out. Good luck your making progress at least! I have both a new stock oil tube and a new GT3 oil tube to replace the cracked rib I currently have, if you cant install metal guide tube I will most likely remove my GT3 tube and just install the stock oil tube back.

Since your metal guide tube is in place, you should be able to fit the new GT3 fill tube. As for me, I will mess with it some more. Since I haven’t got a clue how to contort the tube into the oil tank, I may just revert to the stock one.
