This is a great idea/solution. However, to all those who are considering this as their oil level check function is broken on their cluster, check this thread first - http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...l-not-working/

its pwderhounds thread so he gets all the reps. from what i can see you can drop the motor enough to get to the bolt holding the tube in place. order the parts and when you get them wait for the next oil change and drop it while changing the oil and swap it out. might have to remove the secondary air pump to get enough room but it should be able to be done

IMHO, you will need a drop of 6" at a minimum. To go more than 3" or more, you will need to disconnect the fuel lines and coolant hoses along with the engine harness. You will also need to unbolt the sway bar and remove the crossmember under the engine. At that point, you can drop it...

Could you kindly upload the 2 pages of the PET .pdf file showing the entire image and PNs associated with it? Thank you.

At some point I may do my H2O fittings and this will be a priority if I have to drop the engine. THANKS. It would be so nice to see and smell the oil for real. I have older Porsches that allow this and it seems so idiotic that I can't in the newer cars.

PWDRHOUND- Thanks and Reps to you!

I just installed mine tonight, I had to remove the oil level sender and put the guide tube in the tank, on the mounting flange you will see a small grove where the alignment fork on the guide tube goes into place. Then i slowly and carefully wiggled the filler tube over the guide tube....
