996 X50 vs. Gallardo..Which is quicker??
Ya, I haven't seen good time out of a mag for the Gallardo either. But to be fair, we all know about mags. Sometimes real world situations may be different than mag times.
Well, I guess the real way to find out is by
a) asking owners that have both or
b) asking people that have actualy raced these 2 cars
Anyone?

The best stock trap speed I've seen from an X50 is 119.9.
Best non-X50 trap...117...average 115-116.
Best M6 trap...120.5.
Those trap speeds match the results from the videos we've seen. So yes..while I agree that driver's do matter...with driver's being equal...I'd put them in the following order for roll-on acceleration ability. This only my opinion based on things I've read and videos I've seen. I've never driven a Gallardo...and I'm sure it would feel very fast if I did:
-M6
-X50
-M5
-Non X50 TT or Gallardo (could go either way)
The problem with asking those who own them which is faster is that most owners are inherently biased..and their butt-dynos are typically way off. Especially with high-torque cars..which pretty much always feel fast whether they actually are or not.
Videos of actual roll-on races along with trap speed comparisons are really the most accurate method(s).

Im sure i can line up some of my Gallardo owning friends to race. Also, remember, that the U.S. tests of Gallardos seem to be E-gear cars, which in the Gallardos case are slower than the 6speeds, not to mention supposedly 150lbs heavier.

I have not weighed a Gallardo, but from what ive heard, a 6 speed is about 3250lbs, while the E-gear is about 3400lbs.
