996 X50 vs. Gallardo..Which is quicker??
#2
Ther's a video on this forum of a stock non-X50 TT vs. a Gallardo from a roll. And the Gallardo *barely* edges it out at high speed. I'd say a stock X50 woud be faster than a Gallardo.

Drivers play such an important role. I have seen many instances where car X should have beat car Y, But car X was in 3rd gear and car Y was in 2nd gear, hence car X losing when it is indeed the quicker car.
Not saying the X50 won't win, but was just curious if these 2 drivers were both in the right rpm/gear.

Can't say. But the same poster also posted a video of a Stage 2 TT against the same Gallardo and the Stage 2 wiped the floor with it.
Check it out (vid links are directly below the picture in the first post:

Then how would you explain the vids posted above? If it can barely pull on a TT, don't you think it would lose to a X50?

Drive both make your own assumptions. There is also video around of the new M5 or M6 kicking the **** out of a 996TT, easily walking away from the TT putting BUSLENGTHS on him. This same car is said to have been neck and neck with a Gallardo. All depends on driver knowledge.

There was a recent Best Motoring comparing the Ferrari F430 with Gallardo & Porsche GT3. The Gallardo got absolutely destroyed by the F430, and was pretty nose to nose with the Porsche GT3 (though the F430 seemed very slightly faster at high speed). Said the Gallardo was like driving a family sedan compared to the F430, and commented there might have been some issue with power loss through the AWD. I would take a properly driven X50 in the 1/4 mile. There seems to be something wrong with the Gallardo. I never seen great times from this car on test drives. Either that or mechanical problems.
