I agree about the 18s being a dying breed, hopefully they will keep making something people can be happy with.

My dad has PS2's on his TT, I have Pzero's on my GT2...Pirelli's are better dry tires, Michelin better in wet...

I will probably get the ps2s if I need tires, but my contis while not the greatest tire are still good with rears being new.

I'll be going with the GForce Rival S in 315/30 when my rears are done (which will probably only be another 2000 miles or so.) Being a brand new tire, I'm hoping it will perform better than the Michelins, which are now obsolete tech for them.

the sad truth is that michelin ps2 ( arguably the "best" tire for the car ) is just too costly at 500/540 per ( rears obviously ) and even then too hard to locate when ya need em!

thats the real dilemma as i see it.

hah! i just ( FINALLY) got my OZ HLT allegerita rears installed and of course! i need new rears! seems the way i drive coupled with my usual 2 sets a year of tire usage hasn't budged by switching to the pirelli p zeros! from my 6 years of michi PS2's there is some never before seen tire wear now that i believe is from running OVERinflated as the outer and inner wear are not only perfect but have many more miles left to them. its the inside tread wear that is almost gone leading me to believe that it's wheelspin + overinflation combined.

the TS toe links though have significantly improved my outerwear though. so,.. great! another 800/1000 bucks. hmm, just spend 4k now new tires. yeah this is a cheaper habit than....whatever... no it isn't lol

i'm also going with a nitrogen fill next time and meantime i'm down to 34 PSI cold in the rear. i dont think that's gonna work out too well, since 38/40 used to suit me just fine on michis! we shall see.

I am in the same boat. Has anyone run with 245/40/18 front and 315/30/18 Goodrich. Seems the best option on tirerack. Otherwise I will have to revert to my standard turbo twist's with standard width rubber.

why not try the 235/40 x 315/30 goodrich? pretty sure they make that size in front and the 315/30 is i/s again in the newer configuration.

good point as i'd always heard good thing about em but never owned a set. i was hugely devoted to michis until it got ridiculous; price/avaiability!

are they in 235/40 X 315/30/18?

Because tirerack don't stick them in that size so I can't get them delivered. I live abroad.
