Hope that helps...
wow john.. thanks. that all helps a lot and never as concisely put. i'm glad i asked and thx for taking the time !

i wont run 19's and am already rwd ( just need to finish the axles/coilovers etc, but so far so happy ) and i did NOT know the 245 was a stock 6gt2 size. i previously ran the 9" in front on my last set but it's a bit of a plow with the kinds of tight corners i run, would be much better for more wider road course situations i would guess, and felt an immediate benefit by reducing that to an 8.5 in front. i think i will try and split the difference by upping to a 245/40? from my current 235/40/18. i'll stick with the 315/30 rear..

but am going to read this all again to ensure i haven't missed anything. god knows you've been thru vast numbers of tires and different setups and i and I'm sure others benefit from your sharing your expertise and advice. i sure do. thanks again.

I meant to say 8.5 is the stock 6gt2 wheel, OEM tire is 235/40. 245s work fine on 8.5s

got it, so if i stick with gt2 sizes, i'm guessing it'll be fine for me. the 245 would be wider, and on 2nd thought, thats what i just eliminated from the equation by downsizing to the 8.5 from the 9" in front.

it really does make for a more nimble turn in in tight situations!

thx for clarifying this.

We're not talking about the PS2's, we're talking about the Pilot Super Sports. To my knowledge, they have never made a 315/30/18 in PSS.

You can contact them several ways, through their website:

or their FB page:

As far as sales go... Shrug. What would help us out a ton would be if places like Tire Rack or Discount Tire would list the 315/30 size as standard for the 996TT. There are more choices for the 295/30, and very few for the 315, partly because it's a numbers game. That tire size was standard for the GT2, which was produced in far fewer numbers. If they'd just drop the 295 as the standard tire for the TT's, and just made a 315 size, I'm sure they'd sell plenty of them.

These have gone out of stock again on tirerack. I've not been home for several weeks so was unable to place an order whilst they were in stock. Anyone know of any other suppliers with stock, that preferably offer international delivery?

my newest pirelli's say "made in germany" but sure look chinese to me. ugly blackwalls super raised typeset on sidewalls; no red "p zero" logo, and better visually suited to a caterpillar earth mover.

but what's in a 'look"

I just made the switch from GT2 sized N4 PS2s to Nitto NT01 for street use (due to the shortage). So far I'm loving the Nittos, tons of grip, not a whole lot of road noise at highway speeds.

I have a set of 315 PS2 rears with lots of tread left up for grabs in the marketplace if anyone is set on the Michelins.

I have to update my prior reviews of the R888. Initially I was not a fan because of the side to side shimmy I was getting in corners. Made the car a little scary to drive and I wasn't sure what it was doing that.
Well after putting on a few miles I'm not sure if it's because they broke in or what the deal was but that went away and they stay planted and drive through corners amazing now. I would buy another set.

Ps2's wear too quickly and are ridiculously expensive. I want the PSS in 305 or 315 18". Much better tire.

Reviving an old thread here - what sizes should we go with for 18s (i.e. options available)? AWD still.

Just picked up a set of hollow turbo wheels (I believe they are 8 and 11). Goal is to use for street and track. Would the 235/40 and 305/35 work with AWD?

Try going through a dealer. They generally have OEM tires in the system, turbo or GT2 sizes both work. For track / limited street use Nitto NT01 245/40 and 315/30 are available.
