Well for me it was about value/performance as well! Do I think the ProEFI can offer me what I am looking for now (650whp) and in the future (1000whp on built motor)? YES I do...and if it does..that will be half the cost (or more!) of the syvecs.

I'm confident with my choice. And I have a few buddies making well into the 1000+ whp range with the ProEFI on their cars here in CO and they beat on their cars HARD. So I'll be in good company with them. I feel the ProEFI will be plenty robust for my requirements. I thought the highest HP 996TT was on ProEFI? 1500whp ish.

Sorry if I came off like an Assh*le. Pro Efi works too, I just feel syvecs is better. Results and verified vbox numbers dont lie. Neither does high HP porsches switching to syvecs, they dont switch for no reason. Yes that 996tt has the highest dyno record. Never seen it run since though. No Vbox numbers or half mile from it either.

Best of luck to you with your pro efi.

Oh no worries, I didn't think that. Just giving some context to my choice for the ProEFI. I should say that I had to put more weight on the $$/performance due to my budget only being so much. I felt like the ProEFI was the best bang for the buck for me when it came to making my decision. That included proprietary tunes, cobb, eurodyne, AEM infinity, etc. If my budget was 2 or 3 times of what is was then I would have lumped in some other players as well.

And you're correct... logically you have to wonder why people are moving to syvecs..I'm sure it's a great EMS for the $$. I will say as well...I'm not trying to have a record breaking 996TT..lol that will never happen. Just something fun to blast around in up in the mountains, DD occasionally and occasional 1/2 mile event.

Truly there's nothing fancy about my build. It has RSR crank with a 3.8 kit. Stock heads and GT3 intake feed by GT 3586 HTA. Fueled by E85, but the icing on the cake is Syvecs tuned by Ryan! My car spent six months with another tuner but he could not get the performance out of the car. In three hours Ryan increased WHP by almost 300. I highly recommend Ryan.

Best of luck buddy , enjoy your car !
I have the same build as you 35s HTA , cams and simple job head and GT3 ESmotor intake monifold !! Car ran very fast but can not run More than 2.0bar because am running pauter Rods which am afraid to fail !
Now am building my motor and replacing the pauter with carillo rods and go for 2.5bar

At WOT any of the programmable ECU ought to be able to properly command fuel and ignition. Is anyone claiming otherwise?

Ease of software use, availability (and cost) of expertise/hardware, support community, software updates, and abundant I/O are what's important to me. Cost is obviously a factor too! I don't want to have to rely on someone to keep my car running else I'd seriously consider just flashing my DME.

Obviously you can do far more with a standalone, any standalone, so it's really a matter of choosing what's right for the individual. That someone makes X hp on one system or another doesn't sway me one iota honestly as that's primarily the tuner. I'm more impressed when someone can tell me they daily drive their car through multiple seasons with no issues. (shrug)

actually tim941nyc dyno'd 1361 rwhp on a 3.6 motor but he is on a motec. garth was close to 70 psi when his rods let loose. proefi showed 1500 hp

i will say this. it doesn't matter a hill of beans if its proefi, syvecs, factory dme or aem or anything else. if you don't have full and complete faith in the tuner don't go down this road. its extremely expensive and at 4 digit power there zero room for mistakes. pick the tuner then use what he suggests.( and when he says this is the limit for what you have listen to him!) the same can be said for you engine builder as well.

yes and Tim had spark plug problems up the wazoo

I am really impressed with the YUmaverick car over any GTR or TTG built... something special about a TT Porker doing 220 mph in 1/2 mile with a seq

It's here!!!
Not gonna lie, I got a sh@t eating grin ear to ear guys!
Props to ProEFI for a VERY nice packaged/high quality EMS, UP (Undercover Performance) and Lawerence for the awesome deal and fast shipping!

The ecu is SMALL! And the wire harness is beautifil! Makes me wonder what the hell we were thinking back in the day with AEM V1 and HKS vps, afr, blah blah!

Now I just gotta figure out what all this stuff does! Lol j/k!
Too bad I'm leaving tomorrow on a cruise! Damnit!!
A few pics

BR996tt is infamous around these parts
I'm after a bit of advice from the guys who have installed ProEFI ECUs. I have just installed a Pro112 in a Tarmac rally car. I'm in Perth, Western Australia and as far as I know mine is the first pro112 in country. My mechanic has just got the car to the point where it runs with the new ECU. Tuning is next. I have been quite disappointed with the lack of info that came with or is available with the pro112. Am I alone in this regard? The few docs that came with my package had details for the 48 and 128 ECUs but nothing on the 112.
We asked ProEFI for advice about installing the sensors and now have these all fitted. There is one that I'd like to check with you guys. ProEFI said to fit the map sensor in the intake pre turbo, we double checked this as it seemed logical that it should go after the intercooler, but Jason replied saying no and confirming that it should go pre turbo. My mechanic couldn't get the car to run properly with it like that and late Friday he moved the sensor to post intercooler and tells me it is running properly now. Where do you guys have the map sensor installed?

pre-turbo? MAP sensor goes in the manifold/plenum itself. It needs to see vacuum as well as boost.

The IAT, Intake air temp sensor can go 'pre-turbo'.

The car won't run like that...(MAP installed on the intake side of the turbo).
